Blatches Farm

Welcome to the Blatches Farm. We are family run bed and breakfast. The farm location is in the middle of the Essex countryside, yet only about Seven miles from Stansted airport. We offer comfortable accommodation in a relaxed environment.

Between London and the sea lies the ancient Saxon County of Essex. As you travel from west to east the landscape in this vast county transforms from historic woodlands, through rolling wheat-fields dotted with poppies and windmills, to the estuaries and coastal villages and towns of the great North Sea. But what many visitors are unprepared for is that beneath this peaceful rural exterior beats an ancient heart, steeped in centuries of heritage and culture. Across the county, mighty castles and coastal forts commemorating past invasions rub shoulders with museums celebrating past traditions; galleries honour homegrown talent; historic churches abound and a plethora of stately treasure houses and glorious gardens, large and small, beckon exploration.

The farm is an ideal location for business trips or pleasure with the Flitch way passing the back of the farm with no need to go on the road for walks or cycling.

We have our own fishing pond stocked with carp, roach, chub and perch for our guests to enjoy, either fishing or feeding the fish. The area offers various attractions for all ages with local market towns like Great Dunmow (famous for the flitch trials), Thaxted and Saffron Walden.
