Forest View Holiday Park Information

Description

Liverpool is less than 40 minutes drive away, Manchester is 45 minutes away and Blackpool is 50 minutes away, so we are ideally placed for attractions such as the Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Illuminations, The Albert Dock and Maritime Museum, and the famous Grand National horse races. The charming Victorian seaside town Southport, is 25 minutes drive away, there you'll find old shopping arcades, antique shops, good restaurants and great fish and chips and don't forget the famous flower show held in August and the Air Show usually in September. Also just down the road is Birkdale famous for the Royal Birkdale Golf Course. There is also the ancient market town of Ormskirk a 10 minute drive away were the markets are held every Thursday and Saturday in the town centre. There are a few local villages close by - Parbold, Burscough, Rufford and Mawdesley, a 5-10 minute drive away that are worth a visit, Burscough has Martin Mere Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre were you can bird watch and see many rare birds as they flock in. Also there is the Wharf that has a few shops, tea rooms and restaurants. Rufford is known for the Old Hall which is owned by the National Trust, Mawdesley has Cedar Farm which has contempory crafts, unique shops, a lively café, farm animals and a funky playground. Cyclists and walkers can enjoy the towpath of the Leeds-Liverpool canal that is just round the corner. If you love to eat out there are many nice places to go that are not far away, there is the Red Lion at Newburgh that focuses on british classics, and you can then wash it down with a pint of quality real ale from a choice of brewers, Briars Hall at Burscough, Wayfarers at Parbold, Miller and Carter on top of Parbold Hill, Hop and Vine at Burscough and many more.
