Green View Lodges Information

Description

Green View Lodges is a small lodge park offering 4 self-catering lodges and 1 self-catering cottage in the small rural village of Welton. We can be found just 4 miles north of the Lake District National Park, 9 miles from Carlisle and 16 miles from Penrith. Welton is also within easy reach of the West Cumbrian coast including the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All accommodation is pet friendly and we welcome furry family members! The 4 lodges all offer ground floor only accommodation whilst the cottage is split over 2 floors. Our smallest lodge can accommodate 4 people whilst our larger lodges can accommodate 6/7 people and are ideal for a family getaway. Our cottage (The Hayloft) sleeps 2-4 people and has a private hot tub so is perfect for couples looking for an escape. There is plenty of outdoor space and each lodge has it's own fire pit which can be used for BBQs or just to sit around a warm cosy fire in the evenings while enjoying the sunset. The leisure suite offers use of a six person hot tub and three person sauna for all guests in the lodges – what a way to unwind at the end of a day exploring. The local area has no shortage of activities and pastimes for all the family whether it is walking, cycling, water sports, quad-biking, shopping, cultural experiences, historical adventures or getting close to wildlife and nature. There is something for everyone of every age whatever the weather. There is plenty of opportunity to get out and about with a dog, we are just a 15 minute walk from the river and the Cumbria way from which there are lots of options for long or short walks that may incorporate a pub! We also have a fully enclosed dog exercise area on site for dogs to safely have a run around off lead while they stay with us. The Lodges are within easy reach of the M6 - it is just a 15 minute drive from the motorway to reach us. The Lake District National Park is just a 6 minute drive away and the Solway coast 30 minutes.

We (Gary and Emily) bought the business in July 2017, moving from North Nottinghamshire to the beautiful county of Cumbria. Previously Gary was an engineer at Rolls Royce and Emily was a teacher so it has been a complete change of career and lifestyle for us. We spent many years holidaying in the Lake district and fell in love with the beauty of the area and in particular the North Lakes. It was a dream that we would run our own business and so when the opportunity arose we jumped at it. For us the most important thing is that everyone who stays with us feels welcome, relaxed and comfortable. We want all our guests to feel at home and to treat our lodges as their own while they stay with us. We made the decision very early to make the whole site pet friendly as we know how important furry members of the family are. We don't holiday without our beloved collies Jousey and Brae so we don't expect our guests to leave their dogs at home either. Above all we want you to leave happy and want to come back and stay again. We count many of our regular and return guests as friends now and we think you are all awesome!
