Description
Nestled in the heart of the village, this charming property has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. Haydon Bridge is located in the heart of the South Tyne Valley and is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding tranquil countryside of Northumberland and Durham. This small family run, 4 bedroom bed and breakfast offers a friendly welcome and calm and relaxed atmosphere, where the owners David and Lois will be on hand to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The local area boasts some of the most picturesque locations in the North East of England. Haydon Bridge is only a few miles from Hadrian’s Wall, Vindolanda, Houseteads and the many forts and sites of the wall itself There are also the numerous National Trust and English Heritage properties and sites of Northumberland and County Durham, including Wallington Hall, Gibside, Cragside and the various Castles and historic sites of the Northumberland Coast. Don't forget the glorious heartland of Northumberland with Kielder Forest and the lovely rolling hills and valleys of the the Northumberland National Park. To the east, is the rural town of Hexham, at its heart is Hexham Abbey, which dates back to the 7th century, going on a little brings you to the city of Newcastle, whilst travelling south from Haydon Bridge takes you into the countryside of County Durham and the lovely Weardale and Teesdale Valleys, not forgetting Alston, the highest market town in England, with the amazing journey over the North Pennine Way. Whilst heading west will take you into the splendour of the Cumbrian mountains and the Peak District.
