"Not happy !!"
stayed 23rd to 27th Dec. told no breakfast xmas day as manager wanted to spend time with family. (why open?). No breakfast boxing day either said he (manager) had toothache. We had to go to sisters for breakfast. When challenged he said would open boxing night for meal. Hotel staff said kitchen closed. Not happy. Manager did come in and to be fair cooked a fantastic meal and had drinks on house, plus gave us a night free of charge due to inconvenience. Read less

The Manor House welcomes you to our 16th century listed building, originally a gentleman's residence and used as an orphanage for a number of years, the building was converted to a hotel in the 1980's and offers a relaxed friendly atmosphere with many original features and extensive award winning gardens.

We offer the visitor comfortable en suite rooms, a restaurant offering delicious home cooked food and our comfortable bar with entertainment on weekends serves a selection of wines beers and real ale all beside an open fire on those cold winter nights.

In the warmer months meals and drinks are served on our patio or garden with its manicured lawns, high stone walls and mature trees. Ferryhill is one of the few remaining market towns in the area with a good range of shops and facilities.

We are located less than 2 miles from the A1(M)junction 60 and just 8 miles south of the historic city of Durham with its shops cinemas night-life and of course the Castle and fine Cathedral.
