Home in the highlands

Usually staying in a guest house feels awkward, and unfamiliar. But Philip and Caroline struck just the right balance of helpful without being too in your face. Their guest house is comfortable, and quirky with a blend of the old world and their world travels. We slept brilliantly every night, and ate brilliantly every morning. They had their wood burning fireplaces going every day for our comfort too. Read more

One of the best UK Guest House/B&Bs we've stayed in.

We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Philip and Caroline in their beautiful home with its panoramic views across Loch Gilp to Loch Fyne. We used the guest lounge with its cosy coal fire most evenings and our en-suite twin room was very well appointed with lots of thoughtful little extras. Extensive menu choice for our well-cooked and presented breakfast every morning (you must try the locally smoked kippers!)all eaten while watching the sun rise over the loch. Unforgettable... When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the owner, taken to our rooms and shown how to use the showers. We were also given keys to the house for a late return that night. We spent a comfortable night and the next morning were greeted warmly again at breakfast. The menu was extensive and the portions generous. All in all a very successful visit. We would certainly stay again if we were in the area. Read more

Clean and comfortable hotel serving good breakfast although atmosphere could be warmer.

An overnight stop en route to Western Isles which was perfectly comfortable, with good facilites. Staff were friendly and welcoming although some of the notices displayed in lounge and rooms create a negative impression. All rooms were full but fire was not lit in lounge on a cold November night.
