Welcoming, relaxing and helpful

Just one night for the purpose of meeting friends who had a one night stay in Chester. We simply wanted a decent and convenient place to stay overnight. Read more

Highly recommended!

My sister and I booked an overnight stay at the Ba Ba. We were allocated a room on the second floor which was very spacious with a lovely en-suite bathroom - all facilities at the Ba Ba were spotlessly clean. The breakfast the next morning was fab! Read more

We were given a warm welcome by the owners and so, in our opinion, an enjoyable stay, excellent value for money and we would book again.
Dislikes?
Parking was a bit tight at the rear of the property but we were given a space on our (early) arrival.

Chester is a busy place

We used the Chester base for seeing Chester and Liverpool (frequent and affordable rail link). The World museum at Liverpool is worth a trip, and a guided town walk at Chester highly recommended. Read more

Likes?
The location is easy to reach by car and then in pedestrian distance to the town center and the train station. Chester has many neat sights (walls, shopping district, cathedral, museum, parks, river).
Dislikes?
The location is on a very busy road, and room #3 faces the road. There may be central heating, but it was not available. The warm water supply worked only in the shower. British bomber nostalgia.

Disappointed to find that the en-suite facility for my room was a bathroom across the landing past 2 other rooms. The room was adequate for a single guest like me but very squashed as a double.

We were given an upper room, which was as requested, although the stairs were rather steep up two floors with bags! Read more

The en-suite shower was faulty - temperature all over the place - either too hot or running completely cold. Soap dispenser not working. Skylight in room noisy in overnight rain

pleasant respite

The room was modern and clean, including wi fi; the breakfast was copious, fresh, and tasty; the hostess gracious in helping me make plans for the next step of my trip through Wales; the staff courteous; the location close to the train station (about half a mile) convenient; an Indian restaurant on the near side of the bridge from the train station reasonably priced and delicious. Nice stay

Only stayed one night and the Ba Ba was fine. It has a friendly ambience. Only criticism (along with breakfast timings) is the early-ish check out at 10-30. With breakfast out of the way it does make you feel like you 'have to go'. That said, it is a nice guesthouse and we would stay there again if visiting the area. It's about 10 minutes walk to the station or 15 to the centre, with a number of pubs and restaurants on the way. Read more

Likes?
Nice spacious room, though I think we were allocated a family room on the top floor. Nicley furnished.
Dislikes?
Nice breakfast, a little early for a Sunday morning and only runs for 30 mins, 08-30 to 9. Compare this to bigger hotels, breakfast often goes to 10:30 or 11. Perhaps up to 9-30 or 10 would be better?

Good location, very clean and staff very helpful

Staff very helpful in allowing us to check in at 12 instead of 4 to dress for Chester races. Breakfast a bit early at 8:15 due to a large party eating at 9. Rooms very clean and nicely decorated, however being in room 4 which was the attic room was very small with ensuite shower across the landing. Read more

Comfortable, friendly, relaxed an first rate

Extremely pleasant, 1st rate. Booked as a surprise by our daughters and they made a very good choice. The owners were really friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Had an executive double in the dormer, impressed with the size of the room. Home cooked breakfast the following morning and saved us some money on tickets for the zoo. Read more
