WE were allovated the "room at the top" Attractivle decorated and tidy but very small. I thought this would not be a problem but the slope of the ceiling and the exposed beams made eny movement around the room a high risk event, using the washbasin resulted in thumps to the head and sitting up in bed suddenly was not wise. Having said that this room wasclean, tidy and dfecorated with well chosen colours, and had a splendid view of the bay. In all a perfectly acceptable spot for an overnight stay Read more

After ringing the door bell 3 times, we finally got shown to our room. The landlady hadn't heard the bell as she said she had been watching tv. Our room was mismatched, some parts of it being very dated, the bed was squeaky and had seen better days. The floor needed vacuuming and the bathroom was cramped and "bodged" with patches of floor grouting not done. The shower went from freezing to boiling and scalded my partner. In the morning, the landlady was nowhere to be seen to speak to.... Read more
Dear Mr Manktelow, Wow, whatever did we do to deserve a review like that! I did apologise profusely to you for missing the door bell, however I do reserve the right to watch Tv's in my own home. I can't understand why you didn't come down to tell me of these terrible complaints at the time?!? Hair in your breakfast and the landlady nowhere to be seen!?! I do the breakfast here and would have been more than happy to come into the dining room to see you with my hair neatly swept up as always.

We stayed for just one night and even though the view over the bay is breathtaking, it does not take away from the fact that the room is in desperate need of refurbishing. Room 6 is the second largest room in the hotel easily accommodating families of up to four. At £75.00 on the seafront in Penzance this is an extremely competitive price. For larger rooms you would have to pay a considerably higher tariff. We are so sorry that you found your stay below par as we work hard to look after all our guests. Especially a rating of two out of five for breakfast is upsetting to us. Almost all our other guests thoroughly enjoy breakfast and have commented to that effect.

Good evening. I can only say we have had several hundred guests stay in Room 3 over the last two years and none of them have described the room as minute. We were shocked to find we were right on the top floor in the attic and the stairs were too steep and narrow for us. My husband who uses a walking stick had to get both cases down the next day as I was too frightened to carry them down. A shame really as the room had been done to a high standard. Read more
