Filthy

Shocked that filthy unsafe premises are still in business. Stained sticky carpets, long term mould and dirt, bedroom fire door locked guest in room, fire door too small in another and gap ineffective. Thin curtains hanging off rails, filthy breakfast room though tables clean, Cafe frying smells ingrained in whole premises. Fire hazard in stairwell being used for storage. Breakfast deemed high risk to health so inedible. Read more

Clean towels, bedding, shower mat, cup. Only stayed as other guest houses booked. I stripped the mattress of dirty mattress cover, covering mattress with clean towel, fill mattress dips with cushions

We did not stay in the accommodation booked, as there was a problem with the toilet facilities in the room. We were greeted by the proprietor to tell us that she had found us alternative accommodation nearby. As we were only staying one night, this was not inconvenient to us. Read more

A memorable anniversary trip

We arrived on the 17th Nov and greeted very warmly and shown to our room by the landlady. It was a double bed en-suite with neat pillows and duvet. The guesthouse was only a couple of minutes walk from the train station, bus stand and the restaurants which was very convenient. The breakfast provided was tasty, delicious and kept us on our feet for the whole day. The shower though small was enough for one to bath at a time with warm water available always. The bed was cosy and we slept well. Read more

The location of the hotel was very strategic with the bus and train facilities available at a stone's throw. The room was neat, bed was comfy and breakfast was sumptuous. Owners were warm and friendly
Dislikes?
The shower was small and could fit only one person but warm water was available any time of the day, so it was fine. The Wifi did not seem to work on my phone but for other guests it was fine.

Top location and very welcoming management!

I stayed for one night and was surprised to find the hotel right outside the railway station, which was perfect. Cheap and VERY handy for the station, also close to ferry, but not for the fussy.

Beds were comfortable - (we stayed in room 10 for 1 night on way to the Scilly Isles and room 1 on way back)and the bedding clean. The towels were off-white and the showers needed bleaching. The whole place had a bad DIY feel about it-poorly fitted sockets, skirting boards etc etc. but the owner was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was OK, but cheap supermarket rather than quality produce. This place is NOT for those who like everything spotless and immaculate. Read more

Likes?
It was 2 minutes walk from the train station and about 10 mins from the IOS ferry and yet quiet with comfy beds, so it suited our purpose and was reasonably cheap.
