Most delightful and pleasant stay!

We did lots of walking in the Peaks starting with a delightful chat in the morning with our host accompanied by a luxurious breakfast and most caring service. All guests are introduced to each other by the host and so you have a wonderful homely atmosphere of sitting with friends at breakfast, having a nice chat what plans you have and to get new ideas what to do or to see. Two thirty-somethings and a dog

We stayed at the Causeway House for two nights with our dog. The rooms, location and owners were all brilliant. The rooms were neatly laid out (we stayed downstairs as we have a dog). Nice ensuite bathroom, and our room wait straight out into a small courtyard which during the summer I would imagine would be a great place to sit with a bottle of wine. Read more

A stay in a B&B place that was like coming home to unknow but loving relations

I was welcomed by Janet, the owner and host, and cared for by her and Nick as if I were part of her family.
The single room was small of course, but everything needed was there.
Janet managed to turn breakfast time into a kind of family affair. She introduced us guests to each other, so we started to talk, share our plans for the day, or experiences of the location. Janet stayed with us, continued to fill our coffee cups and gave good advise. That was so nice for somebody travelling alone. Read more

Dear David Thank you for the lovely review. It was a pleasure having you and Sandra here.
We have a problem with local suppliers for Vegetarian choice of Bacon and Sausages as our local butcher doesn't sell them we buy our Eggs and Veg locally. I shop in Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons, Sainburys for the Veggie choice of bacon and Sausages--
the only favouritism we show is toward our guests.
Kindest regards
Janet & Nick.

We had an overnight stay arriving 4.00 pm - very friendly reception by Nick and our room was lovely with ensuite facilities. The location is brilliant for Castleton and the local area. Welcoming stay in Castleton.

We spent a lovely weekend in Castleton at the Causeway. Janet and Nick make you feel at home and gave us a comfortable and immaculately clean base from which to explore the Peak District. The rooms are in keeping with this beautiful part of the world (if you are after Vegas-style indulgence, capacity and bling this won't be for you!) and for me it was a real slice of England - cozy, comfortable and friendly. If you're looking for a brilliant B & B in Castleton, look no further!

Absolutely faultless! Bedroom was spotless, cosy, and there were fresh flowers on the dressing table. Everything I needed was provided. Breakfast was available at a time to suit me and the choice was extensive. Position of B & B ideal for buses (just around the corner), and all walks easily accessible. Lots of good pubs in Castleton and a wonderful sandwich shop (Peveril Stores) round the corner to get your freshly made packed lunch for the days walk! Perfect! Read more

Wonderful B & B, Sociable owners, definately recommend

Our stay at Causeway house, was very, very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for Nick and Janet, they are very approachable people and keen on ensuring you have a lovely stay in their B&B. The breakfast is brilliant, cooked to order, also a choice of cereal if you wished. There are toasters for each table so you can make your own toast and eat it hot. The shower in the Luxury double room was amazing with plenty of hot water for showering after a long walk in the peaks. Read more

First Class!!!

We stayed overnight with our dog. The room was lovely - extremely comfortable, spotless and well provided with the little extras that show you have a thoughtful host. We had a substantial breakfast; all cooked fresh and to our liking. Each table had it's own toaster - what a brilliant idea - so often toast is served at the wrong time during breakfast, but we had hot fresh toast as we wanted it. Janet is the perfect hostess and went out of her way to make all the guests feel special. Read more

Causeway House was recommended to us by a friend and what an excellent recommendation that was. We stayed for 2 nights over a weekend with a view to relaxing and walking in the hills. Janet and Nick were there to welcome us, there was parking (we didn't go near the car again until we left on the Sunday). The room was just the right size with plenty of facilities, an ensuite shower room, coffee and tea, a hairdryer, tv, maps and leaflets for the area, chocolates on your pillow and a fab breakfast. Very friendly, lovely breakfast - a very pleasant night away

Castleton's not very far from us but we wanted a night away from home so booked in to Causeway House. The welcome from Jenny was friendly. We dumped our bags in the room and went for a walk (Cavedale) then a quick pint in the 'Nags Head' which seemed nice. Freshened up in the good powerful shower then out for a really nice Italian meal at '1530', recommended by Jenny. Good sleep on a comfy bed then down for breakfast.
