A well appointed cottage (Old Dairy), warm welcome and a wholly relaxing stay.

A short stay (4 nights) in the Old Dairy cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting on a working farm.
Although some visitors may be put off by the farm noises, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Derek and Linda were welcoming and keen to help.
The blind in the bedroom broke during our stay, but the cottage owners were quick and eager to help.
We have already booked ourselves in to stay again! Read more

Beautiful setting.
Warm welcome and friendly hosts.
Being on a working farm.
Pleasant cottage.
Good value for money.
WiFi access (although somewhat slow and intermittent)
Dislikes?
Initially difficult to find (best ask for directions or use a good satnav!) access would be difficult in a small car in very poor weather (snow/ice).

This is the 3rd cottage on the farm we have stayed in,it was as equally immaculate as the others. It's a wonderful place to return to at the end of the day to freely roam around the farm.

the only let down was the rain, but this IS England! :o)

Last Minute Shuffle

A couple days before our arrival, a plumbing problem made our cottage unhabitable. The Banburys notified us, and gave us the option to cancel or we could stay in a space they would have to quickly prepare. As we had activities planned in the area, we opted to stay with them any way. They quickly shifted furnishings about and did everything they could to provide us with a place to stay. While it was not as plush as our original cottage, it was adequate and we enjoyed a good week. Read more

A stunning location for a relaxing holiday. The children loved helping around the farm, even going out at 7am to help milk the cows! They certainly didn't want to go home. Read more

Description

A warm, friendly welcome awaits you at our traditional beef, sheep and dairy farm ideally located on the Devon/Cornwall border and popular with guests touring many attractions in the West Country. We offer excellent four star accommodation on a 260 acre farm in a beautiful quiet rural location but easily accessible from the A30 (4 miles). Enjoy a relaxing break in one of our cottages with all essential appliances, fixtures and furnishings. All four cottages have their own distinctive features and characteristics. A traditional country décor resides throughout with exposed beams and wood burners set in stone fire places creating a warm atmosphere reminiscent of days gone by. The cottages sleep up to 6 people each and are fully equipped with excellent furniture, TV, DVD and video players. Bed linen is provided and the beds made up prior to arrival. Kitchens include integrated dishwasher, fridge and microwave, oil fired central heating plus wood-furner in the lounge. There is a garden/patio with furniture and barbecue. The first things you will notice on your arrival on the working farm is the warm welcome you receive from Linda and her family who will do their up most to ensure your stay is remembered for all the right reasons. In addition to our accommodation we have an on site beauty suite including spa, sauna and gym. Katie our therapist offers a variety of treatments including relaxing aromatherapy massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, gel and acrylic nails, contour wrap and platinum detox. You will meet the traditional farmers Derek and Raymond milking the Holstein Friesian dairy cows twice a day and James a lively teenager who will have great delight showing you the lambs and calves being fed, the cows milked and the beef cattle roaming the fields. You are welcome to join in with every day life on the farm. There is always much to see and plenty going on.
