A good nights rest

This was the first stop on a 5 night cycling holiday, and it made a really good start, it can be a problem finding somewhere to keep the cycles secure overnight but the staff where very helpful and had a room to lock the bikes in for us. Read more

Good location, nice place to stay work or pleasure.

Location was great, nice to wake up and see the sea, breakfast was plentiful. Steak I had on the first night in the bar was good too. Room was comfortable and clean.

Clean and friendly

The room was perfectly clean and comfortable. We had two evening meals but whatever the food was cooked in (oil etc.) seemed to have been used over and over giving a false flavour. Also, the breakfast could've been warmer. Read more

A very comfortable night

We spent just one very comfortable night here on business. This was our second visit here. We spent the night in an extremely comfortable duplex suite The Captain Cook Suite. We found the restaurant to be of good quality for dinner and breakfast along with the bar for an evening drink. With the sea and beach just at the other side of the road I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other prospective guests Read more

Awful and resented paying any money - probably good in its hay day 30 years ago

First room there was shaved hair on the ledge in bathroom. The light carpet was dirty and could do with a good carpet shampoo, very simple solution. The windows were single glazed and all rooms felt cold. When I moved to the sea front room the cold was even more noticeable especially in the bigger bathroom. The finish in the bathroom was bad, grouting cracked etc. The water feed out of the taps was very poor and made a quick shower impossible as you couldn't wash off the soap, pipes woke me up! Very Disapointing overpriced for accomodation. Room needed complete refurbishment

Stayed for 3 nights, my travelling partner had previously seen one of the rooms about 2 years ago, the room shown to her then bore no resemblance to the room we were allocated. she was very disappointed, clearly she had been shown the best room they had. We did not get one of the better rooms. breakfast offered was cheap low cost foods low fat yogurt, tin fruit salad! cheap bread almost toasted ! cheap tea bags. my companion at 89yrs old found 5 flights of stairs challenging as No Lift. Nice hotel lovely rooms

Our stay was fantastic until around 9pm un be know to us there was a wedding party on that night and we were put in a room right above where the night time reception was being held, so for the next 3and a half hours we had to listen to a very annoying dj dribbling on and playing horrendous music as loud as he could, then after the party as most of the guest were staying in the hotel that night they were banging down the hall way and screaming and shouting. so not a fantastic night. Great Value for money, friendly helpful staff, accomodation very good, food fairly poor.

Having driven over 300 miles it was great to be given the key to suite which was huge with a sofa and coffee table which made it feel more homely and more comfortable to unwind after such a long drive.
