The Retreat is just like its name! Situated on the first floor with lovely high ceilings. It has the best views of the sun rise, grounds and countryside, from the bedroom and kitchen windows. The perfect place to relax. It has a fully equipped kitchen including a cooker, hob, microwave, coffee machine, large fridge/freezer, ironing facilities and dishwasher. The farmhouse sink and the beautiful oak worktops adds to its charm. The open plan lounge area with its stunning original victorian fireplace is stylish and comfortable with a flat screen LED TV with freeview. The modern ensuite bathroom has a large walk in shower, WC, washbasin and shaver point. The bedroom has dual aspect windows and has a comfortable double bed, hanging space and a chest of drawers. A hairdryer is also provided. There is tea, coffee and sugar in the cupboard. We provide a scrumptious welcome basket and all fresh bed linen and fluffy towels included. Throughout the apartment there is also free wireless high speed WIFI. Feel free to wander around our beautiful grounds or relax in the gardens. Please note: We do not accept dogs in this apartment. However one well behaved dog is welcome in our Granary apartment.

The Loft is our largest apartment and is in the oldest part of the farmhouse dating back to the early 1800’s. Covering two floors, it is extremely spacious and welcoming. It offers a comfortable and quiet stay on the first and second floor of the Victorian farmhouse. The large open plan kitchen/dining area with oven, hob and microwave looks out onto the lovely old stable yard. The cosy double bedroom has beautiful views over the gardens with a pretty en suite bathroom, with toilet, washbasin and shower. The second floor has been beautifully renovated into a stylish and cosy country lounge and reading area, with its original woodwork. Once apon a time this floor was the children’s nursery. To make your stay pleasant we provide all linen, white fluffy towels, tea, coffee, sugar and a scrumptious welcome basket. Other facilities include ironing facilities, free Wifi, LED flat screen TV and hairdryer. You are more than welcome to wander around our 15 acres and enjoy the stunning countryside and wildlife or relax on one of our benches in the grounds, gardens or stable yard. Please note: We do not accept dogs in this apartment. However one well behaved dog is welcome in our Granary apartment.

One well behaved dog is always welcome in this cosy ground floor apartment. The Granary offers guests a truly relaxing stay. It has easy access to the quiet gardens and beautiful grounds and benefits from views from the bedroom and kitchen windows. The apartment is warm, inviting and has a pretty bedroom with a comfortable double bed. The stylish en-suite bathroom has a toilet, washbasin and shower over the bath. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and has ironing facilities. The warm lounge has a home from home feel and a flat screen T.V with freeview. All linen, white fluffy towels, tea, coffee and sugar, along with a scrumptious welcome basket is provided. There is free wireless high speed Wifi throughout the apartment. Please feel free to walk around our stunning 15 acres and enjoy the beautiful countryside and wildlife or relax on one of our benches or seating areas scattered around pretty gardens and grounds. Description
Whether you are looking for a relaxing few days away to unwind or somewhere to stay for a few weeks to explore the beautiful local countryside or stunning Medieval Cinque Port town of Rye, we are always happy to welcome you. Stay in one of our three cosy apartments in the original Victorian farmhouse and relax in our 15 acres of beautiful grounds and gardens. Humphries Cross is a large Edwardian country house in an idyllic location, surrounded by pretty farmland in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Victorian portion of the house dates back to the early 1800's and has been transformed into three stylish and tranquil self catering apartments with its own entrance. We offer guests a quiet and secluded setting in the Domesday village of Iden, with its dog friendly pub, shop, post office and church and only 2 miles from the centre of the historic Cinque Port Town of Rye with its old cobbled streets, antique shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, art galleries and Nature Reserve. Just 5 miles away we have the old pretty Ancient Town of Winchelsea and its large shingle beach, Camber Sands with its vast expanse of beautiful sandy beach and breath taking dunes and a little further the well known RSPB Dungeness. Weather you love relaxing walks, cycling or water sports, the surrounding areas has everything to offer. There are many stunning vineyards to visit including the famous Award winning Chapel Down Winery and we are a short drive away from various properties of interest including Lamb House, Smallhythe Place and Bodiam Castle. The traditional seaside Town of Hastings is just along the coast. ONE WELL BEHAVED DOG ALWAYS WELCOME IN THE GRANARY APARTMENT.

Road from M20 (19.8 miles)1. Head south-east on M20 2. At junction 10, exit to Ashford/Brenzett . 3. Follow signs for the A2070 slip road to Hastings/Lydd airport/Hamstreet. 4. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Straight Lane/A259 and continue to follow A259. 5. At Skinners roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Fishmarket Road/A268. ( you are now in Rye). 6. Drive up the hill and turn right into Iden Road, signposted to Iden/Tenterden 7. Our driveway is on the left next to the 30mph speed sign.
