The house had great decor with a wonderful dining area and Brahms playing softly on a piano-recorder in the background
Dislikes?
Our room was small, with neither air conditioning nor fan and we both found the bed too soft. The bathroom was cramped, with the adjustable mirror and soap dispenser in the shower placed too high.

Bright, attractive centrally-located boutique hotel, from which we could walk and explore.

A one-night boutique hotel from which we intended to attend several events in the Music Festival, all of which were walkable. We wanted somewhere attractive, simple and reasonably-priced. Our room, though small, was neat, clean and light, well-furnished and with all necessary facilities, an excellent shower and comfortable bed. Five minutes to the middle of town provided a range of shops and galleries. A delicious and varied communal breakfast was served by the friendly owner himself, Read more

Likes?
The proximity to all parts of the town. a cultured and attractive feel to the hotel, with particular care paid to conservation - lots of little details: organic sauces with breakfast for example.
Dislikes?
Lack of an ordinary chair in the bedroom; there was no space for a desk but an upright chair for both sitting and putting clothes on would have been useful.

Excellent. Very high standard of comfort and cleanliness.

I was watching a concert in the Town Hall (literally on the door step) and decided to pay for a bit of luxury. I was not disappointed. Read more

Just as we imagined - and more!

Our stay coincided with the Cheltenham Science Festival taking place just across the road from one4bandb. However, this did not detract from the weekend - indeed it was an added interest we had not expected. The B&B is situated in a busy square but we certainly did not hear traffic noise once back in our bedroom. Read more

The location is ideal - all the major shops and plenty of eateries within walking distance. As for the B&B, our ratings show what we liked about our stay.
Dislikes?
A small point: We would have liked to have been able to open both windows to get more air into the room. However, the extra glazing on the large window did help to block traffic noise.

Very high standard bed and breakfast with a personal touch.

I spent a weekend break with family in Cheltenham, we enjoyed wandering around the town, admiring the architecture, browsing in the shops & eating out - lots of choice! We stayed in a very comfotable b&b, we arrived to a warm welcome & got great service, it couldn't have been better. Read more

The location of the b&b was perfect for such a short stay, it was lovely and peaceful despite being so central. The room was spotless, the bed was perfect, I slept like a log. Breakfast was delicious.

Description

Welcome to our recently opened, boutique b and b situated on the corner of one of the signature garden squares in central Cheltenham, Imperial Square. Cheltenham is renowned for it’s Regency Architecture, with light painted, classical styled buildings in crescents, squares and tree lined boulevards. It is also becoming justifiably well known for it’s many festivals ranging from the famous Cheltenham Gold Cup horse race, through to literature, jazz, music, dance, food and drink, design and science with many famous international names coming to entertain and inform us. Cheltenham is known as ‘The Gateway to The Cotswolds’ – an area of extreme natural beauty, history, quaint Cotswold stone villages, rolling landscapes and country homes - members of The Royal Family have their country houses here. It is an area deserving exploration with too many delightful attractions to list here. Cheltenham is a very ‘green’ town. We are blessed with many parks, gardens and tree lined avenues. We have iconic buildings such as the Pittville Pump Room, the turn of the century Town Hall, The Boys, and perhaps more famously, the Ladies College and many beautiful detached villas and Regency terraces. Many formal buildings are host to musical and theatrical events that go on throughout the year. We can also boast a new contemporary art gallery, three theatres, museums, sale rooms, multi screen cinemas, sporting venues, restaurants with Michelin stars, a Jamie Oliver and many small private dining rooms, bars, clubs and of course our many and varied pubs. one4 is a Regency town house with only three ensuite bed and breakfast rooms: two 5’ doubles and at the top of the house, a twin. We use impeccable sateen bed linen on the 2000 pocket sprung beds, provide towels and toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits, wifi, and tv with dvd player. The rooms have secondary glazing, individually controlled radiators, and ensuite shower rooms with both rain and hand held showers.
