On arrival young man came to reception but with no real welcome.I found room nd was slightly underwhelmed by look and ripped net curtains.
The shower was wonderful after my long journey.Hairdryer seen better days.
Unable to connect to WiFi even another man on reception could not get it for me on my tablet.
Squeaky floor woke me up with the busy landing at 6am
Breakfast was very nice.
Overall I had a lovely sleep in the very comfortable bed and would just say those few things need attention. Read more

Thank you for Very good review but disappointed to see a three for breakfast but no comment as to why? I am sorry that we fell short on the breakfast.
We stayed at the hotel for two nights in order to attend a family birthday celebration. We needed relatively low cost accommodation. Whilst the service was adequate, there were areas of the hotel which were rather tired and the whole thing needed tweaking into a slightly higher quality level. Read more
Thank you for your review. We are updating the premises after a fire caused by a discarded cigeratte that had been smoked out of a
bedroom window. The paint off the hand rail is from the hoses that were dragged through the whole hotel in order to put out the fire which took the roof off one side of the building. We have a schedule of works to include all the paintwork and bathrooms. The tables and chairs are put out every morning for the guests to sit outside the front of the hotel.

Thank you. It has not been an easy few years and we hope the change of direction from Greek to the Carvery will be beneficial for our guests and help us to carry on and update the rest of the premises.

We stayed to visit relatives living in Baldock. The location of the hotel was excellent, staff service was fine. The only issues was temperature in the room and especially the carvery. The Carvery food was not so good. Parking would have been an issue if one of our party did not have a disabled badge Read more
I hope that you will try our carvery again. We only opened on 17th March and we were still learning to improve. The aircon is now working again and a our new meat supplier is consistant with quality. Hotel room heating can be controlled via the radiator thermostats
as this is difficult to judge for everyones comfort. Thank you for comments on the staff , it is appreciated.

Thank you very much for your positive review and I am sorry that car parking is not within our control as there are only a handful of stalls every wednesday. It is the council that will not let people park on the car park until stalls are set up and then the rest are available.

You came to stay with us as we were changing from Greek to Carvery so I agree the bar was limited while we were working on the area. New layout disruped wifi but Templars wifi is all sorted and available free of charge to our customers. If you come and stay again you will see a major difference to the restaurant and bar that I hope you will agree was worth the wait.

I am please to report that all our old TVs have now been updated to 32 inch flat screen TVs and the staff are delighted. You will see big changes if you stay with us again as we are now a Carvery.
When we arrived we had a twin room instead of a double, and the staff were efficient, upgrading us to the best room in the hotel with a four poster bed which was much warmer than our first room also. However, we didn't get told about the hen party at the hotel, with music until 1am! At breakfast, we had to ask for our order to be taken, and then waited 20 minutes for it to arrive. There was also inconsistency with fresh/tinned tomatoes. The staff need training and general cleanliness was poor. Read more

The hotel was fine, however when we checked in around 3-3.30 on the day we were told the restaurant was closed and we could not get anything to eat. We were forced to seek a meal elsewhere which proved difficult. If only the restauraunt could have made two sandwiches(very easy) and a pot of tea (even easier) it would have made our stay more enjoyable Read more

The web site suggested parking in road outside. None was available. After patrolling the area for 20 minutes I parked far away and carried my case for 10 minutes. If I had been able to park closer, the parking area was being closed at midnight for the weekend anyway for a local event. This should have been made clear at the time of booking.
The room was on the top floor. Very pokey. Poor natural light. Very stuffy. Tiny window. Mouldy mastic around shower. Shower fine. Breakfast basic but OK. Read more
I am sorry for the issues that you had this weekend. The staff concerned have both been spoken too. The event in the town was an annual event ,attended by approx 500 people which was a far greater number than attended in previous years. This did create problems with parking in the town which is usual sufficient as there is a car park across the way from our hotel as well as on street parking. It also had an impact on noise throughout the neighbourhood but this is not a weekly occurance .

Needed accomodation in centre of Baldock. Very welcoming on arrival but given room on top floor 'because of noise from party night'. Very small window, airless room. Shower and toilet very poor.Lot of mould, shower head filthy and covered in limescale. Shower curtain ill-fitting. Toilet seat not properly secured. Would never recommend to anyone else. Read more
