The Dog at Wingham Information

Description

The Dog at Wingham is a beautiful 13th Century property located in the picturesque village of Wingham, Kent. The eight luxury en-suite rooms range from boutique style double rooms, to a lovely family suite onto the most spectacular bridal suite with four poster bed and vaulted beamed ceiling. All of our beds our Hypnos posture support wool top mattresses - the same as the new owners have at home! Wingham is a beautiful historic village, The Dog at Wingham is opposite Wingham church and is surrounded by many stunning traditional timber-framed Kentish buildings. The village boasts two pubs, a village stores, newsagents, bakery, post office, tea rooms and a number of other shops. The historic and famous City of Canterbury is only seven miles from us and is easily accessed by road and public transport, Canterbury Cathedral is simply unmissable if you are visiting our part of Kent. Howletts Wild Animal Park and Wingham Wild Life Park are both within a few miles of The Dog at Wingham. If golf is your thing we are surrounded by world famous golf courses such as Royal St. Georges, Royal Cinque Ports, Princes and Canterbury Golf Club to name but a few. The stunning seaside towns of Sandwich, Deal, Margate, Ramsgate and Whitstable are a short trip away. Please do come to visit Kent, the Garden of England and stay at The Dog at Wingham. During your stay be sure to enjoy a meal in our award winning restaurant and when the British summer allows you can dine in our stunning garden. The Dog at Wingham offers a wide range of real ales, craft beers and draft lagers, ciders and stout. An eclectic range of wines and spirits are also available from the bar and guests love our Gin Bar with over fifty to choose from. Dogs are most welcome at The Dog in the bars, restaurants and to stay in our rooms - a £25.00 pet charge is applicable per stay. Directions

  • Road from A2/M2 Westbound (5.5 miles)
    Travelling coast bound on the A2/M2 Dover Road, take the exit for Bridge and at the end of the slip road turn left onto Biffrons Hill. At the roundabout take the first exit on to Station Road heading towards Littlebourne. Continue into Bekesbourne Lane, pass Howletts Zoo on your left. Pass through Littlebourne and at the T junction turn right onto the A257 Wingham Road, towards Wingham. Continue onto Canterbury Road and as you come into Wingham The Dog is on your right, just past the Church.
  • Road from A2/M2 Eastbound (6.0 miles)
    Travelling east bound on the A2/M2 Dover Road to Canterbury/London take the A260 exit towards Folkestone/Aylesham/Wingham/B2046. Turn right onto Canterbury Rd/A260. Turn right to stay on A260. At the roundabout, continue straight onto Adisham Rd/B2046. Turn left onto Canterbury Rd/A257 and The Dog at Wingham is immediately on your left.
  • Road from Canterbury (7.0 miles)
    Take the A257 Littlebourne Road towards Littlebourne, continue through Littlebourne into Wingham and The Dog at Wingham is on the right just as you pass the Church.
  • Bus from Canterbury (6.0 miles)
    Take the 13A bus to Walmer from Canterbury Bus Station. Get off in Wingham adjacent to the Church. The Dog at Wingham is over the road.
