We stayed at Mitton Hall to celebrate a wedding anniversary as we married there 11 years ago. We chose to stay in the Kings Suite as we did on our wedding night but have to say the sleep quality was poor as you could hear staff walking about during the night in the main hall. Additionally check in was not the best as the receptionist was almost rude in her manner and not helpful - receptionist later in the day was lovely Read more

Was really looking forward to a night away from our children, the first in six years. Arrived at Mitton hall around four o'clock, and was given the queen suite which we had booked. Room was cold and felt like it needed a good clean. Shower didn't work so had to have a bath. I was up most of the night with the light shining through under the door from the corridor and noise of people walking past. Didn't like where the room was situated and felt I couldn't relax.
Bar service was good Read more
We booked the Mitton suite, as it looked to have the facilities we wanted and booked a table for two on Saturday evening, requesting a nice position as we were celebrating our weeding anniversary. Read more
Overall a decent stay as we attended a family christening at the hotel. Service and staff were great, but we had one issue, the bedroom was extremely cold with the heating not working properly in both the bedroom and bathroom.
When I reported this the next morning, was told that it would be looked at. Unfortunately nobody came back to us to let us know if the issue had been resolved. I had to ask in the evening for a heater to be placed in the room. Read more

Anniversary overnight and we had a lovely time. Staff seem very stretched as there was a wedding going. We stayed at Mitton Hall as we were there for a wedding reception. We were impressed by the hotel itself but a bit disappointed when we found that our room was not at all in keeping with the rest of the hotel - it was very modern which did not fit in with the Tudor / oak-beamed décor in the main part of the hotel. Our room was directly above the wedding reception area so we were unable to sleep until the disco stopped. Check if there

Very good. An eclectic mix of nice decoration and the downright ghastley. The building of course is spectacular. Bedrooms ok bathrooms very poor. Why is wash materials anchored to the wall!? Insulting ! On "style" a near miss but a miss. Did I really see a tall mauve glass wine goblet?! Read more

We had high expectations but were disappointed. The room was very nice, it was clean and nicely decorated. However there was no iron or ironing board, my husband had to go down to reception to ask for one as there was no phone in the room. There was 1 small bottle of water between 2 of us. The window has wooden blinds with slats, unfortunately the lighting from outside was very bright and came through which kept our room well lit until it went off at 2.30 am. Not what I would expect from an expe Read more

Arrived early evening to be greeted by a very nice a friendly staff. Lovely fire place and entrance hall. My room was clean and spacious for 2 people although I was on my own.
The room could have had an internal lock or latch for added peace of mind, especially if I was a female guest.
I think there was one other guest stayin that night so staff seemed to be just doing not a lot, but not in a bad way. I felt a bit sorry for them, but they were very polite and professional. Read more

We were returning for our year anniversary, after having our wedding at Mitton Hall. We were treated like King and Queen on our wedding day, and naturally we imagined it wouldn't be quite the same this time around. How wrong could we be!
The bar manager even remembered our signature cocktail from the wedding and sent two over complimentary when he spotted us. A testament to the freedom the staff are allowed and also noticeable that many of the staff were still there!

An overnight stay with dinner to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Mitton Hall is full of character with quirky touches. Staff were helpful and enthusiastic. Although our room was pleasant we were disappointed to find that it was directly over the function suite wedding party was taking place but were eventually found an alternative room. Evening meal in restaurant was excellent! Full English breakfast was rather greasy. Overall, a pleasant stay, particularly the evening meal. Read more

We were wowed by the medieaval appeal of the main hall upon entering, the whole look of the hotel was very appealing. Service and staff interaction were exceptional and very friendly and the room we stayed in-the Mitton Suite -was very comfortable and spacious. And all within minutes of some wonderful English countryside. Our only minor complaint would be the droning hum that we awoke to on Sunday morning which we assumed was coming from the Kitchens. impressive external appearance and entrance hall. Dining room is lovely and food was good (we only had breakfast there). Unfortunately we were fully booked on this occasion and we do try to offer an upgrade where possible on special occasions. With regards to paying for the wedding tasting, this is normal procedure, as it is at many of our competitors.

Arrived and was greeted with a friendly smile was shown to room (Mitton Suite)which I assume was an upgrade so pleasantly surprised however noted that there was water dripping from top of window down on to window seat cushion which probably explained a slight musty smell in the room? Facilities were excellent although the bathroom was a little dark. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was again excellent and my only other note was that the smell of the kitchen outside the room was unpleasant. Read more
We stayed for 2 nights with another couple for a short break away. Nearby Whalley was lovely for a nosey around the shops, as was Clitheroe. There is lots of places to choose for dining experience, not least Mitton Hall itself for lunch on the terrace.

We came for our friends Wedding and both loved everything about both the occasion and the venue. You couldn't want anything more. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the berooms compact but beautifully done with walk in showers and very comfy beds and the breakfast was amazing (I'm told all the food is). The outside terrace at the back was fantastic, especially seeing as it was the hotest day of the year so far. Top marks all round. Read more

It was passion that drove us to lovingly restore this magnificent 15th century manor house and to expose its true beauty. Our journey started and ended by returning to where it all began those centuries ago, Mitton Hall had to become a home again, a place that looks and feels like it belongs to somebody. The stunning interior design is perfectly complimented by the historical and architectural features that this magnificent property boasts, creating a truly unique ambience and atmosphere. We offer 18 guest bedrooms varying in size, shape and style. The bathrooms are all state of the art without being too over the top, cold and impractical and they’re full of all the goodies that you have come to expect. As difficult to describe as it is to forget this part chic, boutique luxury hotel is the perfect escape and hideaway. Offering somewhere to relax and unwind and to stimulate the taste buds as well as indulge the senses our Brasserie and Deli menus are a must for all visitors. The bar at Mitton is something of a work of art in itself, a veritable temple to the incredibly diverse range of product and extract of the grape, grain and bean. Preposterously well stocked and open from the crack of dawn to the dead of night. Our wines have once again been chosen for us by D. Byrne & Co. of Clitheroe. The Brasserie menu served in the Dining Rooms offers something altogether more substantial. The freshest ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible, are treated with great flair, respect and imagination by Head Chef Mark Gaukroger and his hard-working team. A truly bespoke conference venue awaits you at the newly refurbished Mitton Hall as we allow you to conduct business in the most exceptional of surroundings. With 5 function suites all boasting natural daylight and a full range of audio visual equipment available, we provide facilities suitable for an intimate interview or a seminar for 200 delegates.
