The Maids room nestles in the eastern Dutch gable end of the Manor’s 17th Century roof. A most notable charm of this room is its original pegged Green oak beams, peppered with original assembly marks and dating back 400 years. The room’s position at the highest point of the house affords beautiful views over the fields towards Belvoir Castle and the surrounding vales. Another of the Maids room particular quirks is the brick chimney breast dating back to 1450, which sits proudly in the centre of the room and creates a quirky corridor to the en suite facilities. Originally the servants’ quarters, The Maids room is now a superbly appointed bedroom with a double bed, en suite bathroom with a roll top bath, television, wireless Internet connection and tea and coffee making facilities. Please note that part of The Maids room charm is its steep and winding staircase, making this particular room unsuitable for guests with mobility issues.

The Butlers room sits proudly in the eastern Dutch gable end of the Manor’s 17th Century roof. A particular feature of this characterful room is its original pegged Green oak beams, littered with original assembly marks and dating back 400 years. The room boasts splendid views from the highest point of the house, stretching out over the meadow, into the centre of the village. Once the servants’ quarters, The Butlers room is now a beautifully appointed bedroom with a king size bed, en suite with power shower, television, wireless Internet connection and tea and coffee making facilities. Please note that part of Village View’s charm is its steep and winding staircase, making this particular room unsuitable for guests with mobility issues.

Each of our rooms has its own unique style and character and none more so than the Lord’s Room. The grandly dressed and luxuriously decorated room was once occupied in Jacobean times by the Lord and Lady of the Manor of Allington and is well suited to those in search of a little opulence. The freestanding roll-top bath, six-foot bateau bed, subtle lighting and seventeenth-century stone surround open fire all combine to create the exclusivity which has been demanded by successive Lords of the Manor for the past 400 years. This room enjoys views over the front garden to a magnificent ash tree and across a neighbouring meadow to the village green. It also boasts an en suite toilet and shower, television, radio, wireless internet connection and coffee & tea making facilities

Allington Manor Information
Description
The Old Manor House at Allington is situated on the fringe of the Vale of Belvoir and in a tranquil Lincolnshire village with excellent road links. It offers a unique blend of beautiful and restful country life along with a variety of more lively attractions close to hand. The market towns of Grantham - birthplace of Isaac Newton and Margaret Thatcher - and Newark, with its strong reputation for antiques, are on the doorstep. The historic town of Stamford and also Burghley with its world famous horse trials, lie 20 minutes South; as does Rutland Water, Britain’s largest man made lake. Nottingham with its Castle, Tales of Robin Hood, Playhouse Theatre, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Forest and County Football clubs as well as The National Ice Stadium, Arena and Water Sports Centre are only half an hour away. The Manor is a beautifully restored Grade II Jacobean building. It is steeped in history with the original manor on this site recorded in the Doomsday Book. The current Manor dates back to 1450, evidence of cellars, attics, priest holes and all the human history that suggests, is everywhere. The Manor is a now a grand family home with all the warmth, comfort and quality that go with that and guests are welcomed with throughout their stay. Enjoy our deluxe accommodation, unwind at the end of the day in the stunning Drawing room and soak up the country while you relax in our beautiful garden and enjoy your coffee. For the more active perhaps you would enjoy a game of croquet, a ride on one of our bicycles or a walk on one of the many from the Manor. We invite you, to share in the history, the beauty of the setting and the sheer quality of all aspects of the accommodation and treat this lovely Manor home as your own.
When the house was purchased by the Vincent family in 1983, the task of restoring it to its former glory began in earnest. Garth & Paula Vincent, with their sons Dominic, Byron and Leo, carried out most of the initial work. In 2011, the torch was passed to Leo and his wife Amy, who now run the house as a B&B and event venue. Its restoration continues and will probably do so for the rest of their lives.
