Excellent Accommodation

My husband and I stayed at Highfield at the end of our holiday. We were visiting Edinburgh for a few days prior to returning home, and had wanted a location that was not in the city centre (for quiet) but was close to public transit (inorder to be able to access the main sights easily since we did not want to have to drive) and local restaurants within walking distance, in case we did not want to eat in the city centre. Perfect B&B ran by a lovely couple

I could only stay here for two days and regretted that I had to leave. Everyone was really friendly. The room was beautiful, tidy, it had a tea making set and a small desk to work on. I had my own little bathroom with all kinds of soap and towels at my disposal. The breakfast was simply marvellous. I could list what I would like to eat the night before; all kinds of eggs, sausages, hot beverages and even vegetarian haggis was an option, but also yogurths and toasts. I would recommend this! Really helpful and friendly owners

Arrived in Edinburgh late, and had to leave very early next morning. We had booked in advance, and when we arrived at Guest House we ordered two Continental breakfasts. We were really quite delighted when we were offered a full cooked breakfast, quite a bit earlier than breakfast was due to be served. It was all done in an exceedingly kind manner, and we felt well looked after. Thank you. Read more

Excellent guest house. Very friendly owners. Comfortable room and berth.

I stayed at Highfield Guest House for 1 night from Saturday to Sunday while visiting Edinborough.

I met Gordon at the door and he explained everything about the room, guest house and direction for how to get into the city . Breakfast on Sunday morning was very good and fresh.

Gordon kindly agreed that I could leave my laptop bag at the house on Sunday to discover the city and pick it up in the afternoon before leaving via train. Read more

Fantastic Edinburgh Guest House

This was our first trip to Scotland and we could not have chosen a better way to start our trip. Maggie and Katie were just the most welcoming, cheery and thoughtful hostesses we ever met. Maggie made suggestions for meals, walks, transportation and attraction visits that made our Edinburgh visit just about perfect. Their breakfasts were outstanding and though small, our room was immaculate, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our stay at Highfield made for a wonderful memory. Read more
