wonderful B & B in an idyllic location

This is the most lovely B&B you are likely to find. The rooms are lovely and well equipped. A lot of care has gone into the decoration and fixtures. The couple who's home this is are so warm, friendly and welcoming, with a lovely fresh cup of tea and cake on arrival. The breakfast was made to order and very generous and tasty. Nothing seems to be too much trouble.

The Old School House is set is a very lovely little village which boasts a very fine pub with extremely good food. Read more

An ideal getaway

The Old School proved an ideal base from which to explore the delights of Northumbria and its coast. It was a genuine 'home from home' which made for a genuinely enjoyable and relaxing Bank Holiday week-end. The accommodation was clean and well appointed including a comfortable sitting room which provided an oasis of calm and comfort on one particularly wet afternoon. The local pub proved similarly inviting and authentic which was a great bonus and convenience. Read more

The perfect place to unwind and explore the beautiful Northumberland countryside and coast.

Yvonne and Steve are delightful, friendly and extremely hospitable. We felt the warmth of their welcome immediately with tea, coffee and delicious cake served to us on our arrival. Our room was spotless and beautifully comfortable. Yvonne had thought of everything to make her guests feel at home. It was especially interesting to hear about the history of this lovely old house. Its situation is perfect, being in the countryside but close to Alnwick and the beautiful village of Alnmouth. Read more

Finding a ray of sunshine in a miserable cold and wet weekend

We arrived early on a miserable cold wet Friday, but were immediately welcomed by Yvonnne who gave us the tour, and provided a cup of tea and some cake. We then made ourselves comfortable after unpacking, and had an afternoon snooze. Evening was spent in the excellent nearby pub/restaurant, and we retired to bed for a good night's sleep. All this was repeated over the next two days, but this time with fantastic breakfasts that left us needing no lunch! Yvonne and Steve were charming hosts. Read more

Splendid Overnight

We enjoyed our overnight very much indeed. We ordinarily stay in hotels, but the comments relative to this B & B were so positive that we thought we'd give it a whirl. We weren't disappointed. Our host and hostess couldn't have been more accommodating, and made it a pleasure to share their lovely home for a short while. Fantastic break in a warm, friendly B&B, I couldn't recommend enough!

We had an overnight break in February and it was fabulous. The Old School House was immaculately clean, with a lovely large bright and very comfortable room. The bed was so comfortable and Steve and Yvonne were so friendly and helpful we felt very at home. We had everything we needed and more.
