An excellent 'stopover' with excellent hosts.

Staying overnight only so breakfast choice and quality was a major requirement. It was served in the conservatory over looking the cottage garden.
The house, an eclectic mix of decor from its original victorian design to art deco and modern- quirky but
interesting. The spacious bathroom facilities were just across the landing for our room but other rooms were
en suite.
Situated 5 mins walk to the sea front and beach and a walkable distance into town and near the Scottish border is ideal. Read more

Comfortable stay in good position

Our stay was part of a tour of Northumberland so we stayed in an interesting range of very different guest houses. We spent 2 nights in Caroline House. We liked the location, it was close to where we needed to be! The room was very spacious and comfortable and there was a large selection for breakfast which we enjoyed.
Dislikes?
There was nothing we did not like about the hotel, but breakfast was very early, it would of suited us more if it was alittle later especially on a sunday.

A really w.arm welcome nothing was too much trouble.

We loved the place and our host was full of useful information. She gave us many suggestions of places to walk to and visit. It was really good to be able to watch birds while having breakfast. The room was warm and clean and had everything we needed. Read more

The distance from town on the website was incorrect. We had no car and felt a bit out of it. But the house made up for it.
