Charming little house

My husband and young son (age 2) had a wonderful stay. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome! The room(the stable)was beautiful. Had a real vintage feel to it. It was very spacious with two single beds and a large sofa bed. It was filled with lots of lovely little extras. There were toys and books for my son not to mention all the toiletries you could possibly need and more. We all slept well and woke to a hearty breakfast. Would highly recommend it! Read more

Perfectly located, quiet and comfortable stay with friendly hosts

The Coach House B&B is ideally located for an overnight stop on the Hadrian's Wall cycleway. The Hayloft was spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. Thank you very much for your review. Yes the map can confuse at times. We are only 3 miles away but it is up hill and across fields if you are walking. Still, the scenery is beautiful and a 'nice stretch of the legs' if the weather is fine. Google maps, and a number of others, have a nice function where you can check the distance as a walker or a driver, and will also give you an aeriel view so you can get some idea of the surrounding area. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the Coach House. Thanks.

Almost perfect~ let down by a few details

First impressions were delightful, and for guests staying longer this would be an excellent base for Hadrians Wall. Large room, independent coming and going and really comfy beds. We were less impressed by the plumbing which kept one of us awake (the other wore ear plugs), and by the almost military operation that was breakfast, with little choice and unexceptional quality. Comfortable

This booking was not made by Mr Kinsley but by the office staff where he works. Response

Thank you for taking the time to respond and giving this feedback. The two gentlemen were not on holiday, but, working in the area and required overnight accomadation which was booked by their office. Might I suggest that accomodation nearer the job may have been more appreciated by the gentlemen and, if time allows, I would recommend that proximity be researched before future bookings are placed. We do hope they enjoyed their stay and should future jobs be nearer here, we welcome their return.

Two night stay for Great North Run

A two night stay for the Great North Run and a little local sightseeing. Lots of helpful little notes & signs (such as which door to call at when you arrive - so many B&Bs have you knocking on back doors, side doors and front doors trying to track down the owners and make you feel awkward, not here) there's a form for breakfast so you can have what you want and at a time that suits you. The best B&B we've ever stayed in. The owners were extremely helpful and pleasant.

This B&B was extremely private and quiet and the location was perfect for visiting Hadrian's Wall, the surrounding area and even Newcastle. There were plenty of really good pubs, serving excellent beer and food within five minutes drive as well. Read more

Excellent accommodation

The accommodation itself was outstanding, with much attention to small, unexpected details. We were a bit disappointed by the breakfast. A great range of cereals for kids but no healthy option such as muesli, and the 'fresh' fruit wasn't .

Also,we do try to cater for guests tastes, offering a menu to allow people to choose what they want eat for breakfast. The best family B&B accommodation that we've enjoyed!

Finally proper family B&B accommodation - "The Stable" was freshly decorated, beautifully clean & spacious and with a wonderful wet room. Breakfast was served at a time we chose and which we could order the night before - perfect! And good pub grub is available a matter of steps away, which was reasonably priced with plenty of choice & huge portions. Read more

Excellent in every way.

It is hard to find space for a family with grown boys. Coach House more than satisfied. We stayed in several places while traveling and this was the best. Beds more than comfortable, lots of space and extras. Made use of their games and relaxed in the lovely garden. Close to the wall we spent the day hiking and visiting then returned to a wonderful room. Took advantage of the sack lunch when we left. It was great, enjoyed it the next day on the beach. Best value for our money. Read more

Welcoming, generous, very friendly. A home from home.

Our stay was complicated by the fact that our car had broken down 20 miles from Bardon Mill, and by the time we were towed there we were hungry and stranded without a vehicle. So, our trip to Hadrian's Wall was compromised but Carol and her husband could not have been more helpful. They welcomed us late in the evening and had made a booking at the pub to ensure we had a meal. We will be sure to return when next in the area. Read more
