Duke of Wellington Information

Description

The Duke of Wellington Inn is nestled in the Tyne valley village of Newton just off the A69 near Corbridge. Situated near Hadrian's Wall, the Northumbrian National Park, Border Country and the Northumbrian coast it forms an ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of the UK. Graded as 5 Star Gold by the AA and Visit England you will be assured a pampered stay here. A Rosette award for our food suggests you will eat well here too. The main Inn building has seven bedrooms. There are six king size bedded rooms and one twin room with twin single beds. All rooms are decorated and furnished in a traditional English country Inn style. All rooms are ensuite and have underfloor heating. In addition, there is a detached cottage located in the grounds of the Inn. The cottage sleeps four people with a super king bedded room and a twin room with single beds. Both rooms are ensuite. The cottage has a fenced private garden. The Inn has a large private car park which is situated off the main road through the village. There is free high speed WiFi throughout the site. Newton village is situated on the north side of the Tyne valley overlooking farmland and open country. The views from the Inn are special in any season and show Northumberland off in all its beauty. Despite the rural location Newcastle is only 12 miles away and offers shopping and nightlife to anyone looking for those distractions. Food is served 7 days a week from breakfast in the morning to dinner in the evenings except for Sunday when food service finishes after lunch. The food provides traditional British comfort eating to an exceptional standard and makes use of local, seasonal ingredients. A comprehensive range of beers and ales compliments an extensive wine list.
