A Treat!

We were only able to stay one night but the proprietors worked very hard to make us comfortable and provided excellent local knowledge about the area (my wife was looking for 100 year old locations where her family had lived) and helped us find what we were lookin for. Breakfast was tasty and quite filling. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Read more

Dear Stephen, pleased to hear you made the finish on schedule having walked across Scotland. Thought of you at the weekend when we travelled to Fort William for the Steam Train journey.
You did very well, especially since you carried the luggage! It was a pleasure meeting you both and I'm happy to know you enjoyed your meal at the Alyth Hotel.
We are fortunate to have such good eating establishments within a short walk. I hope we'll see you again when you return to walk The Cateran Trail?

Fantastic

On a tour of Scotland we were staying at 8 of the top rated B&Bs and at the Old Stables we had the biggest room, the longest picture window and by far the most communal space of any. Although we arrived a little later than expected, we were made to feel most welcome and helped to get a place to eat. I always hesitate to tick the Excellent boxes all the way down but I cannot think of one thing with which I wasn't entirely satisfied. I truly wish that our stay had been longer. Read more

We were sorry also that your stay was so short with so much of Alyth history to catch up on!
Thank you for such a generous review, it's lovely to have, especially after the disgusting weekend we had to endure two weeks earlier with the females here for the Rewind Festival, when we found it necessary to call Police - twice!
That ended up on Tripadvisor! Which doesn't say much for them!
It was a pleasure to meet you both and look forward to seeing you next time you're in the country.

It was lovely to meet you both. Thank you for the review! We've been tidying up today, so it's not as if we don't know it needs done! Although we do have a gardener who has been on holiday for the past two weeks,
it's difficult to handle a full greenhouse and keep on top of both gardens with a full house of guests at this time of year. If it wasn't for gardening, I'd have time to golf like yourselves:-)
Hope you enjoyed your one night stays around the golf courses of Royal Deeside!

Eileen and Bill were magnificent hosts. Very Friendly, knowledgeable, informative and good fun. The room had a lovely shower and spa bath, which we used, and were delighted with. The room was spotless
Dislikes?
Bill and Eileen have spent a lot of time and expense, building onto, what was once old stables, as the name suggests. Our room opened into the garden, and I would suggest tidying up the path.
