Dolforwyn Hall Country House Information

Description

A Grade ll listed Country House Hotel. Dolforwyn Hall is nestled in the tiny hamlet of Dolforwyn, in beautiful Mid Wales. It is next to the ruins of the famous Dolforwyn Castle, very near to Montgomery and its Castle and Welshpool / Powys Castle. Our eight bedrooms offer a choice of single, double, twin, superking four poster and one family room. These are all en-suite and have superfast wifi. The hall is listed as an exceptionally good example of a picturesque Gothic Villa. The property has beautiful outside terracing for enjoying the far reaching views. We have a licensed bar and our new Devereux restaurant is open for breakfast, evening meals, and Sunday lunches. At present we are recruiting a new chef so the evening and Sunday lunch services are currently unavailable. Our afternoon tea service is available 7 days per week..pre-booking is essential. The earliest structure on the site was a timber formed house dated 1595. The second range was constructed at the rear in the 1700s and the 3 bay front was built around 1830. It stands in over 4 acres of wooded grounds overlooking the scenic Severn Valley. The hall's charm and character have been preserved, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The hotel is conveniently situated on the A483, 5 miles from Newtown, 8 miles from Welshpool and 5 miles from Montgomery. The UK's major motorway network is easily accessible at the M54 between Shrewsbury and Telford in under an hour. Dolforwyn is an ideal base from which to explore Wales and the borders.

Friendly, professional, welcoming - offering highest possible quality in all aspects of our services.
