Welcoming, friendly, comfortable & clean

I was particularly impressed that Linda phoned me earlier in the day to discuss our arrival time. Our overnight stay at Yallands was just what we needed after our exceptionally long journey from West Sussex. Even though we arrived a lot later than anticipated Chris made us feel very welcome, gave us information about the local area and answered our questions.
The following morning Linda served a perfectly cooked, very tasty and beautifully presented breakfast. Read more

Hidden Gem

We stayed at Yallands 1st June and stayed for two nights. The old farmhouse is situated on the edge of a modern housing estate and it is suggested that you make sure you get good directions beforehand (or use a Sat Nav) as it is a bit tucked away. Once you enter the grounds you feel as if you are in the middle of the country.

Many thanks for your kind words and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. With regards to dinner, we do indeed offer evening meals - there is a menu on our website but we do require 24 hours' notice of orders and booking is essential. perfect b&b for a weekend stay

In taunton for a wedding and stayed for 2 nights in the refurbished room. The room was modern and very clean and had excellent facilities... although it could have done with a new kettle!

The hosts were really friendly and welcoming and were a good laugh! They were flexible wih us and were set up for guests to come and go as you pleased. Will be recommending Yallands to my friends and family if they are travelling to the area... Read more

We're very glad you enjoyed your stay with us: however, for the benefit of future guests, there are three WiFi routers that ensure excellent coverage throughout Yallands and we can only assume that you did not connect to the strongest signal available as when tested (as soon as your review let us know there was a problem) there was a full signal in your room. If anyone has problems in future please refer to the instructions in each room or just ask us and we will be more than happy to assist!

A most enjoyable stay in a charming B&B - Yallands Farmhouse has everything to recommend it

My mother and I were in Taunton for a short break, to catch up with some old friends and to begin some Christmas shopping. Yallands Farmhouse is in an excellent position - very accessible from the M5 as well as near to an excellent range of shops, both in Taunton and not too far from the Clarks Outlet Village. It is also not far from some very picturesque towns, villages and countryside. Read more

A relaxing friendly atmosphere not found in many hotels these days.

We arrived at about 5 pm Friday evening aftyer a tedious 3hr drive and were very pleased to be welcomed by Chris and his wife who offered us a cup of tea/coffee. The Tudor room we stayed in was delightful, a good size, comfortable beds with ensuite bathroom that included an excellent power shower. An all round excellent place to stay.

We chose Yallands for our stay in Somerset due to its location to the relative that we were visiting. We discovered a "gem". We will not hesitate to re-book for future stays. The warm welcome we received on arrival was followed by discovering a very well appointed en-suite room. Well decorated and comfy. A warm and hospitable welcome in a farmhouse full of charm and character

My husband and I very much enjoyed our third stay at Yallands Farmhouse. The Chestnut suite is a spacious and comfortable room within a lovely old farmhouse building. Read more

B&B of the highest standard

We discovered Yellands on the internet and our three nights there was our introduction to the B&B market. The cleanliness of the accomodation and helpfulness of the owners was outstanding. Read more

A charming welcome, a lovely house with private grounds, attentive hosts and a superb breakfast with many options.
Dislikes?
The house is not in the most salubrious of locations, but once on the premises that is unimportant. Lack of eating venues within walking distance, the one pub is adequate but nothing more.

Pretty much perfect

Stayed for two nights in this interesting and lovely historical building, everything clean and well cared for. Welcoming hosts, great shower, nice breakfast with proper vegetarian option. Pretty garden and trees. The farmhouse feels slightly marooned in its location right in the middle of a modern housing estate but once inside you can't really tell. Read more

A short but enjoyable stay, repeating previous years' experiences.

A very friendly welcome with tea/coffee and scones in the sun in the garden. Comfortable beds and a nice bathroom in (our) Tudor Room.
More breakfast offered than we could do justice to! A really peaceful country atmosphere despite the nearby road and rail traffic. Read more

I often stay here to break up a long round trip from Cambridge. I know the owners will provide a warm welcome in this quiet and inexpensive B&B - far better than any expensive hotel.

The only drawback to Yallands is that it is not in walking distance from Taunton town centre.

Description

**Free Fibre Optic WiFi** Chris & Karen Ward look forward to welcoming you to Yallands Farmhouse - our delightful Grade II Listed building dating back over 400 years, which sat amidst acres of green fields for several centuries. The expansion of Taunton during the 1970's led to new housing being built on the former farmland. The farmhouse, with its secluded garden, small orchard and stone barn was left intact. As a result, Yallands has become an unexpected 'oasis' of peace and tranquility within a modern corner of Somerset's county town. We are self-assessed 4 star rated and are situated 1½ miles from Taunton town centre on the north-western edge of the town. We are easily reached from the M5 motorway - junction 25 (4 miles) and junction 26 (6 miles). For those who are reliant on public transport a local bus, with a stop at the foot of the garden, provides a daytime service to and from the town centre. The lovely town centre provides excellent shopping and county cricket, horse racing, golf and other leisure facilities are all available nearby. Taunton has a good selection of restaurants and wine bars to suit most tastes and the surrounding countryside offers many delightful pubs which serve excellent food. There is ample car parking space in the private grounds together with lockable cycle storage in the stables. We are particularly convenient for Taunton School, The Somerset Heritage Centre & Nuffield Hospital. Why not enjoy relaxing in our gardens in the summer or sitting in front of our open fire in those cold winter months? Yallands is open all year round and - whether you are a tourist or a business visitor - you can be assured of a warm welcome and our individual attention.

We have The Courtyard room available on the ground floor with parking immediately outside. There is a raised toilet seat and toilet frame available on request. Please see the tab on the left for our full access statement.
