I've been staying here for some years and since the recent new owners took over the place has improved dramatically. The staff are great, rooms basic but effort has been made. For a b&b of this type the Newquay Lodge is excellent. Breakfast well worth it, superb choice and quality. Read more
Our party of 3 couples stayed at the Newquay Lodge for the Greath North Run. It is conveniently located a few steps from the promenade and only 6 minutes walk to the Metro. There is also a fabulous Italian restaurant right next door. Read more

The Newquay Lodge is a lovely hotel in a really good location for the town centre and nightlife.
We had a great stay with no problems at all, and I would highly recommend it if you are planning a nite out in the area. I would not recommend it if you are planning for a quiet stay.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. There is a nice little bar downstairs to start your nite off. The rooms are nice and spacious and the towels and bedding were nice and clean. Read more
Appreciate your review, hope to you you all again. Thanks and regards.
Very Friendly and excellent breakfast, room poor with dirty curtains and windows, the floorboards creeked all the time and the bed was very uncomfortable. The guest house is set in the middle of night clubs and bars which kept us awake until nearly 2 in the morning. No one is on the property to contact fromaround 9pm until breakfast the following morning. Read more
We do have in hotel description an ideal location for stag/hen parties at weekends as located in main bars/pubs/club area of Whitley Bay, and feel this is more than ample for anyone booking online, telephone queries are ALWAYS told that there is an element of noise due to location. The main photo on the website of exterior of hotel is taken clearly shows 'Hairy Lemon' bar and others. There is no night club underneath the hotel, just 2 bars 'Hairy Lemon' and 'Envy' that close at 12.00 midnight
Not told there was major building work happening,
Not told there was a night club under the rooms,
Not told the dining area/bar was closed all day sunday.
Reception was closed sunday afternoon and all evening there was no one and no information on how to contact anybody in case of an emergency. Read more
The only 'major building work' was painting/decorating on the first floor area which we don't class as major, purely decorative. Also, there is a bar under hotel 'Hairy Lemon' not a NightClub which closes at midnight and there is a photo of front of hotel showing bars, which is very visual on our website when booking online. During winter months our bar is closed on a Sunday but 'San Carlos' restaurant connected to us is open from 11.30am - 9.00pm for Sunday Lunches or Italian Food.
the hotel was under new management and the room pleasant enough for one night's stay a little basic for anymore than that the pub next door had loud music which was a bit of a nuisance but it finished by midnight the italian on the otherside of the hotel was wonderful all staff helful and overall a good bargain Read more
We have hair dryers, irons & ironing boards for guests now. Loud music is from Thurs - Sat, and again is very visual from photo on website showing pubs on either side of hotel, and description states 'ideal for hen/stag parties at the weekend'. At weekends we do not profess to be a 'quiet, tranquil hotel', and have tried to stress this through our website description, and all phone enquiries are made very aware of this. However, we have high standards of cleanliness and friendly helpful staff.
Newquay Lodge is close to the seafront in the lively seaside resort of Whitley Bay. It offers quality accommodation in an ideal location. We are situated on the main strip of the famous Whitley Bay nightlife making the Hotel a great location for a hen or stag party. Our rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. Rooms are available with or without breakfast if desired. We also have private parking for guests. If you fancy eating out, the fantastic Michellino's restaurant is below our hotel. Michellino's has offered excellent Italian cuisine for many years and is the perfect place to start a night on the tiles. For those visiting the region, the bright lights of Newcastle are just 8 miles away. This vibrant city has excellent shops and restaurants. We also make a good base for those visiting Newcastle's St James Park. Local attractions include the Sealife Centre at Tynemouth and Sage & Baltic in Newcastle. The Northumberland Coastal Route is nearby where you can visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens and various places of historical interest. Secure off road parking is available. Please Note: We are a No-Smoking property. Regrettably, we cannot accept pets. Check-In time: 14:00 and Check-Out time: 11:00.
