The Crows nest suite is named after Captain James Cook, the explorer who discovered Australia. The Room has a king size bed contstructed of solid oak which is built into the eaves of the loft space. A cast iron free standing bath is under the opposite eaves and the room is decked out in reclaimed timber and portholes from an old ship. The bathroom has a walk in monsoon shower and travertine tiling.
The Big Splash room is equipped with a plasma TV, hypnos mattresses, writing desk & lamp, tea & coffee making facilities, en suite bathroom, hand made soaps, locally crafted bespoke furniture, individually designed decor. It also has tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a CD player to enjoy music. The King-size bed is ever so comfortable.
The De Havilland room is named after the make of the plane in which Amy Johnson flew the first ever solo flight to Australia in. She loving referred to the second hand De Havilland Gipsy Moth as 'Jason' after her fathers trademark. Johnson was a pioneering aviatrix, flying daring missions during the second world war. Johnson was originally from Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire. The room is decorated in khaki and light greys, has a free standing bath at the foot of a custom made tubular steel bed, a custom wing desk is in the room and replica wing adorns the wall behind the bed, the room is very spacious and has a great view up the Dale.
Perry Green was the home of Henry Moore the Yorkshire sculptor for over 46 years, there are acres and acres of outdoor sculptures to view as the gardens are open to the public. The Henry Moore room at The Craven Heifer is dedicated to Mr Moore, has custom made furniture in the style of Moore including a ten foot floor to ceiling desk/wardrobe/sculpture and features a stand alone bathtub at the foot of the bed.
Cabaret is a room that is dedicated to Dame Judy Dench, she featured in the stage production of Cabaret in 1968. It has everything from an alarm clock to a CD, Plasma TV and a DVD player to enjoy all your favorite music and movies. Other facilities include tea and coffee making facilities, Internet access and a hairdryer. Ironing facilities are also available. The King-size bed is ever so comfortable.
Fred Truman suite is dedicated to one of Yorkshire's many legendary cricketers. The room as you will clearly notice has a cricket based theme, evident from the comfortable double bed. It has a plasma TV, with free-view. a CD and DVD player is also available for our guests. Tea and coffee making facilities are available, as well as a hairdryer and ironing facilities. Wireless Internet is also accessible.
Heathcliffe room, named after the Emily Bronte's character in Wuthering Heights. The room has a comfortable double bed, with an en-suite shower. It has a plasma TV, with free-view. a CD and DVD player is also available for our guests. Tea and coffee making facilities are available, as well as a hairdryer and ironing facilities. Wireless Internet is also accessible.
'The Heifer' as it is locally known is ideally nestled at the foot of the Yorkshire Dales overlooking the Wharfe Valley up to the famous Ilkley Moor. Sitting at the top of the village of Addingham on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales betwixt the Market town of Skipton, the Spa town of Ilkley and the famous Bolton Abbey Estate. The Craven Heifer has been painstakingly refurbished combining the character and charm of an 18th Century Dalesway Inn whith stone and oak floors, open fires, leather blanquettes with stylish reclaimed chairs and tables, local artwork and the odd bit of tartan here and there as a nod to the owners Scottish roots.
The Bedrooms at The Heifer have been stripped back to the bare bones and completely refurbished, increasing in numbers to seven individually designed en suite rooms fashioned around 'famous Yorkshire folk'. Examples of these are - The Big Splash suite modelled on artist David Hockney - The Crows Nest Suite, modelled on Captain James Cook. All of the rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, hand made soaps, egyptian cotton, Plasma TV's, writing desk, Hypnos mattresses, locally crafted furniture, free wi-fi, monsoon showers etc. In addition, four of our seven rooms have free standing baths in the bedroom.
Breakfast consists of a selection of cereals and yoghurts. Fresh pastries. Toast with preserves. A large choice of cooked breakfasts. After breakfast you can enjoy the numerous activities on offer in and around Addingham from the canal boats of Skipton and its weekly market to Bolton Abbey, Leeds or Harrogate, all but a stones throw from The Craven Heifer.
The restaurant is open Monday through til Sunday and serves a variety of menu's to tantilise everyone's tastebuds.
All Stairs have handrails. Front entrance has a slope but two stairs, there are multiple stairs to all rooms.
