Take a break in Cambridge and experience the beauty of this famous university town. Hire a punt (and a chauffeur if you don’t trust your balance or your ability to hold on to a slippery pole) and drift languidly along the River Cam; a book of poetry to read is optional. Glide under the Bridge of Sighs to The Backs and take in the famous view of Kings College Chapel. Throughout the town you’ll find wonderful architecture, including a rare example of a Norman round church and Sir Christopher Wren’s Trinity College Library.
For refreshment, head to Fitzbillies for a cup of tea and a bun, or jump on a bike and head to the Orchard Tea Garden in Grantchester, beloved of WWI poet Rupert Brook and his circle of friends. And if punting, walking and cycling has worn you out, take a room at a comfortable Cambridge B&B
