If you’re thinking about a trip to Wiltshire why not take a look at these great destinations:
Amesbury Avebury Bradford On Avon Chippenham Malmesbury Marlborough Swindon Trowbridge Warminster Westbury
The view of Salisbury cathedral across the meadows , as painted by John Constable in 1831, remains one of the most recognisable and treasured views in England. Close up, the magnificent cathedral soars skywards; it houses one of the four original copies of the 800 year old Magna Carta. The Cathedral Close is a delight to explore, as are the medieval streets of the city centre where you will find a fine collection of independent shops, excellent restaurants and welcoming inns.
Staying at a Salisbury hotel or B&B also puts you in striking distance of Stonehenge, a World Heritage Site and one of the most famous prehistoric monuments in the world. The ring of massive standing stones is just eight miles north of the city.
