The County Hotel Information

Description

Designed by George Robertson about 1778 for the Garden-Robinson family (noted merchants and long-standing Provosts of the Burgh) the building contains many features copied from nearby Duff House, William Adam's baroque masterpiece and stately home of the Earls and Dukes of Fife. A Grecian styled porch way with splendid segmented fanlight was added about 1830. Since conversion to a small hotel in 1977, the bedrooms have been individually furnished and decorated with all modern-day comforts. Each room has its own bathroom, colour television, writing facilities and central heating. The French Chef owned County Hotel invites you to relax in the kernal of our establishment. L'auberge, a pleasant restaurant overlooking the bay where only the best fresh local produce (game, meat, fish and vegetables) are prepared personally and served to the highest standards of French Cuisine. Fine wines to accompany your dining experience and local malts to sample are yours to experience at the County Our Bistro is open for snacks and light meals in typical French style. To the front of the house is a small garden with a pair of unusual weeping ash trees, where you may relax on secluded lawns. The hotel car park adjoins the grounds. The County Hotel in Banff retains very much the country-house ambiance of former days and as resident proprietors we place particular emphasis on creating a relaxing atmosphere in our home.
