During the virus we will not be providing breakfasts, however fresh milk , juice and butter will be in your fridge and also snacks. You are welcome to bring in any foods/drinks you wish too . Tea / coffee in both Bedroom and Dining room .
The house is over 200 years old and was formerly the village shop and Post Office. The outbuildings once housed a bakery and now this is the home for our summer swallows.
Comfortably refurbished, the accommodation offers one King size en suite, with a large bath and separate walk in power shower both with grab rails . Full length robes, slippers and a selection of toiletries as well as tea/coffee making facilities, both upstairs and down stairs.
There will be milk/ fruit juice , yoghurts, jams and butter in your fridge. Plus a variety of breads, cereals and fresh fruit.
Please let us know if you have any wheat or dairy intolerance.
You are also welcome to bring in your own food and drink as there are plenty of plates, cutlery and glasses for your use. As well as your fridge, microwave, toaster , kettle etc.
Cooked breakfasts on request, by 24 hour notice, from pancakes, egg on toast, up to full English at £10 per head.
We have 2 small rescue dogs and are happy for guests to bring in with them , 1 small well behaved dog.
Please advice us before arrival. An additional charge of £3 per evening.
Paul and Michelle having met and been together for 21 years, refurbished the property to accommodate guests in their home . 2 guests only in their own part of the property. Private lounge/dining room fully equipped for self catering purposes, although light breakfast included.( The hosts doing all the clearing up!)
Michelle brought up her 3 children here over the last 38 years , whilst running the village store/ Post Office which closed in 1996.
On a summers evening guests can sit in their own front garden and watch the amazing sunsets over the Bridge Water Canal. A cool glass of wine in hand!
Dunham Massey Park is only a 10 minute walk away, Paul has produced his own , "Wainwright Walk" for guests to enjoy a circular walk which includes the canal as well as the park.
The Swan is only a 3 minute stroll up the lane with beams and open fires in winter time , outside dining in the warmer weather. Serving a selection of craft beers , featured in "CAMRA" as well as an excellent menu with their speciality being fresh fish delivered daily.
There are many other places of interest to visit in our area that we can tell you about.
Unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair users. Double hand rails on stairs. Hand rails in bath and showers.
