Degembris Farmhouse Information

Description

Tucked into a peaceful wooded valley, this charming 16th century farmhouse offers the ideal retreat for those looking to rest, relax and unwind. This delightful Grade 2 listed building exudes character with its unusual slate hung exterior and invites you in to share its history. This well-appointed bed and breakfast boasts stunning views over patchwork fields and a glistening lake. There are 3 bedrooms available, all with en-suite facilities which are charmingly decorated to a high standard providing all the comforts of home. A delicious breakfast of local produce is served in the cosy dining room, a great start to your day of discovery. Degembris is surrounded by picturesque gardens, the perfect place to take time out. Or maybe a gentle stroll around the lake or through the woodland to ease those stresses away. Centrally situated, yet close to the sea, Degembris really is the ideal place to explore all that Cornwall has to offer.

Degembris Farmhouse

We are The Elfords (Andy, Hannah, Nicholas & Tegen) and we moved to Degembris in February 2009. Andy was previously a mechanic and I was a primary school teacher but when the opportunity arose to come back to Degembris and raise our children here, (having grown up at Degembris myself) it was an easy choice. Fortunately one that Andy was in total agreement with! Glorious countryside and so much space, a beautiful family home. We took over the family business from my parents, Roger and Kathy Woodley. They had been running the Bed & Breakfast from the farmhouse since 1972 and started to convert the barns into holiday cottages in 2004, completing them in 2008. We love welcoming guests to our 'little corner of Cornwall' and sharing a part of our family history. Our roots go back a long way and we are very proud of the fact that Degembris has been in the Woodley family for so long, tenants from 1893 and then owners from 1915 until the present day.
