Ferndene Guest house Information

Description

Welcome to Ferndene, a traditional style family run guest house offering high standard, comfortable and friendly Bed & Breakfast accommodation a short stroll from Keswick town centre and a pleasant ten minute walk from the Derwent Water lakeshore with its stunning views, lake steamers and the famous Theatre by the Lake. Dating from 1866, our large Victorian house has been comprehensively refurbished while still retaining much of its original character and, with our modern Annexe conveniently located next to our car park (providing free off road parking), has been tastefully decorated in a contemporary style throughout. Rooms in the main house offer magnificent views of the mountains, with our top floor Suite giving a panoramic view over Skiddaw, Blencathra, Catbells and the Newlands fells. All of our bedrooms are cosy, comfortably furnished and have LCD digital TVs with teletext (and DVD in the Suite), alarm clocks, hairdryers and complementary tea/coffee trays. Breakfast at Ferndene is served in our comfortable dining room where you can enjoy a relaxing start to the day. Our buffet has a choice of cereals, fruits, yogurts and fruit juice, followed by the famous Ferndene cooked Cumbrian breakfast and accompanied by tea or freshly ground coffee and choice of toast. Vegetarian and other options are always available on request and all ingredients and products are selected from the best locally available and Fairtrade sources. However long your visit with us we can promise a warm welcome, a comfortable stay and Ferndene's famous breakfast to start your day. We do all we can to provide a homely feel and offer that personal service that makes your stay as pleasurable as possible. We can help with planning your days and with suggestions for walks and excursions, offer packed lunches, secure cycle storage, drying room etc, making Ferndene the perfect base to explore this beautiful area, whether walking or just to get away from it all for a relaxing break.
