Description

Abbey House B&B, offers a warm family atmosphere, comfortable accommodation and a hearty traditional Cumberland breakfast. Our Guest House is located in the busy market town of Penrith in Cumbria. You are assured of the ideal bed and breakfast base, where you can relax and unwind whether you have had a hard day driving, sight seeing, cycling or working! Don’t just take our word for it - why not take a look at some of our guest comments? We are ideally positioned for visiting some of the country's most beautiful scenery including the Eden Valley, The Pennines, Scottish Borders and the Lake District, with the magnificent Lake Ullswater only five short miles away. Many of the finest lakeland fells are easily accessible, including Helvellyn, Blencathra and Skiddaw. The Coast to Coast Cycle Route is very close and have secure storage facilities for bikes. Our guest rooms are all en-suite, with excellent facilities including TVs, hairdryers and a hot drinks tray. Abbey house has a small CAR PARK to the rear of the house, all street parking is free in Penrith and runs on a disc scheme more details can be found on www.discoverpenrith.co.uk/parking-travel.

Abbey House is a Victorian town house with accommodation over three floors. We offer bed and breakfast accommodation in five guest rooms, one of which is on the ground floor. The level of accessibility reflects the character of the house, which retains many original architectural features. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help. We are located in the centre of Penrith town, 500 metres from the local shops and places to eat and drink. We are on a main road which is a flat road.

  • Road from The South (1.0 miles)
    From the South. Leave the M6 at junction 40. Take the 4th exit off the roundabout (signed Brough, A66). Travel along duel carriage way to the next roundabout; take the 1st exit off into PENRITH. Continue past a B&Q to the mini roundabout. Take the second exit. You are now on Victoria road. Abbey house is on the left.
  • Road from The North (1.0 miles)
    From the North. Leave the M6 at junction 40. Take the second exit off the roundabout (signed Brough, A66). Travel along duel carriage to the next roundabout; take the 1st exit off into PENRITH. Continue past B&Q to the mini roundabout. Take the second exit. You are now on Victoria road. Abbey house is on the left.
  • Road from The East (1.0 miles)
    From the East. Leave the M1 at Scotch Corner (A66). Continue along the A66, through temple Sowerby, Kirby thore and past centre parks holiday village. Approaching Penrith take the 3rd exit off into Penrith. Continue past B&Q to the mini roundabout. Take the second exit. You are now on Victoria road. Abbey house is on the left.
