After a seven year long restoration by the owners this stunning Regency house a few metres from the shores of lake Ullswater an unsurpassed location in the words of Charles Darwin who stayed here for five weeks in the Summer of 1881 "this place is magnificently beautiful".

Glenridding House is a grade two listed building, where possible we have tried to accommodate wheelchair access on the ground floor.


A car is recommended when staying at the property

    Turn off M6 J40, Take A66 Westbound for 2 miles, Turn left at Reghed roundabout follow A592 to Tjunction turn right follow lake to Glenridding, Glenridding House is second sharp left opposite the petrol station.
  • Train from Penrith (15.0 miles)
    Penrith station is on the Virgin West Coast main line. Direct from London, Birmingham Glasgow and Edinburgh.
  • Air from Carlisle (35.0 miles)
    Turn right for Carlisle left at M6 to J40 Penrith, Right A66 turn left ar Reghed roundabout to T junction turn right and follow lake to Glenridding Glenridding house is 300m on the left.
  • Coach from Penrith (15.0 miles)
