Ellerdene Guest House Information

Description

Ellerdene Guest House is set within a very quiet area very close to the centre of Windermere village, within easy walking distance of the train/bus station, and many of its shops, restaurants and pubs etc. We have adequate on street parking in front of Ellerdene Guest House, for those arriving by train or bus, we are only a 5 minute walk from Windermere station. Our location within the Lake District and village of Windermere makes our home the ideal base from where you can explore the delights of the English Lake District. For guests wishing to bring their bicycles, we provide safe and dry storage for them. Now Cumbria’s most popular destination, the town is busy for much of the year. People come to enjoy the lake for sailing and watersports, or just to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the area and the town’s delightful setting. Bowness-on-Windermere is now one of the main centres of Outdoor Activities in the UK and an extensive selection of top Adventure Activity companies, guides and instructors are based around here. More details are found in our Activities Section. The Victorian influence can be seen everywhere – in the late 19th century, wealthy businessmen from Lancashire built large residences overlooking the lake, and many of these have now been converted to hotels. Other houses include The National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole, between Ambleside and Bowness. We welcome children 6 years of age and over.
