Owl Lodge, a converted garage & game larder at the entrance to a 19th century shooting lodge on the edge of a grouse moor in North Wales, was converted into a healing room & artists studio 15 years ago and is now a holiday lodge. Close to Llandegla Mountain Bike Centre and the famous Horse Shoe Pass it is the perfect retreat from everyday routine to repair one's soul. Listen to the owls at night & watch the many different little birds in the trees, as you take in the views across the valley from the hot tub. The Double bedroom has a comfy John Lewis mattress and Egyptian cotton bed linen. The whole property is on one level so the bedroom is on the ground floor. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room that pulls out into a king size bed. The Egyptian cotton bedding for the sofa bed is in a cubby under the right hand side of the sofa.

The Dog House is the converted kennel building of a 19th century shooting lodge close to Llandegla Mountain Bike Centre and the famous Horse Shoe Pass it is the perfect retreat from everyday routine to repair one's soul. With the windows open or sitting in the hot tub you can hear the relaxing noises of the stream and birds in the trees that surround the property. It has a double bed with Egyptian Cotton sheets with views of the hillside and the stream.There is a wood burning stove to keep you warm and cosy. The kitchen has a gas hob, microwave, mini oven, toaster and kettle. The veranda with comfy wicker chairs overlooking the stream is perfect for watching the sun set.

Description
The Lodges at Faraway are unique & individual in their character & styling. Offering comfortable and yet sophisticated accommodation, they both come with hot tubs for a truly relaxing stay. Owl Lodge (Sleeps 4) Owl Lodge has a double bedroom with a comfy John Lewis mattress and a sitting room with a pull out Ikea sofa bed that converts to a king size bed. We provide linen for both beds. The kitchen has an under counter larder fridge, full size induction hob, kettle, toaster and combi microwave/oven/grill. There is also a Webber Kettle barbecue outside which you can use. The Dog House (Sleeps 2) The Dog House has a double bedroom with a medium firmness Ikea mattress. Egyptian cotton linen is provided along with two towels for each guest. The kitchen has a gas hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and mini oven. Both properties have a Wood burning fire for heating which we provide enough logs to keep it burning for the duration of your stay. We provide enough coffee, tea, sugar and milk to get you going. The shower rooms have constant hot water so you can shower any time of day and we provide a hand towel and a bath towel per person along with a hand made soap for you to take home. Both have hot tubs to soak in after a long day walking or perfect for an evening of star gazing. Out & About Located on the edge of a Grouse Moor, you can step out of the door and head into the hills, walking for miles across the open moorland observing the abundant wild life. If you are a mountain biker we are right beside the One Planet Adventure Mountain Bike Centre in the Llandegla Forest. There are many walking trails through the forest as well as the bike tracks and you will be adequately rewarded for your efforts at the bike centre cafe. For the fishermen amongst you there are two local fishing lakes as well as the local rivers such as the Dee in Llangollen and the Clwyd in Ruthin with their runs of salmon and sea trout respectively.

Road from Chester (18.0 miles)From Chester follow signs to Wrexham. Turn off to Ruthin. Go through Coedpoeth & Bwlchgwyn on A525. Keep on until 2nd set of traffic lights. Turn left towards Corwen, A5104. At small roundabout turn for A542 From Roundabout, go down hill. As the road starts to rise up there is a layby on left & about 100 yds past layby there is a turning to left. Take this turning & follow lane past a farm up a hill, Owl Ldoge is a Wooden gatehouse on the right of the lane at the entrance to the shooting lodge.

Road from Birmingham (85.0 miles)Follow M6 north. Turn off on to the M54 to Shrewsbury. Follow the by pass for North Wales on the A5 At the traffic lights in Llangollen turn right then follow signs for Ruthin turning left after the bridge. Continue on this road for about 6 miles over 2 cattle grids.Take the first turning on the right after the second cattle grid. Follow this single track lane past a farm, up a hill, Owl Ldoge is a Wooden gatehouse on the right of the lane at the entrance to the shooting lodge called Faraway.
