Britannia Inn Information
Description
Situated at the foot of the Horseshoe Pass, The Britannia Inn in Llangollen was built in the 14th Century by the Monks of the nearby Valle Crucis Abbey. With an extensive view of the Vale of Llangollen below. Known throughout the area for its good food, accommodation and hospitality, the Britannia Inn is a favourite for locals and holidaymakers alike, offering high quality Bed and Breakfast (B&B) and half board accommodation in a relaxed country setting. Featuring in many quality Food and Hotel guides, the Britannia Inn Hotel has also featured in publications abroad - once favoured in the LA Times as the place to stop in North Wales! Another attraction for visitors to the Hotel are our award-winning flower displays. The Britannia Inn is credited with no less than 15 Wales in Bloom awards - the colours change with the seasons and always look spectacular. We also won the Best Kept Cellar in Wales, last year. In the summer, sit outside at one of the outdoor seating areas and enjoy the lovely views. In the winter, sit indoors with a hot drink, enjoy the sparkling snowy view, and consider a short trip up the nearby mountain. Whether to enjoy tobogganing with the kids or to take in the spectacular views at the top of the Horseshoe pass, it's a lovely place to visit. Alternatively, wander down the mountain and explore picturesque Llangollen Town, centred around its bridge crossing over the Dee River. Or just go off on an exciting adventure on one of the many local tourist activities - there is so much to do from your base at the Britannia Inn, you will be absolutely spoilt for choice. Ann, the proprietor, and the friendly and courteous staff at the Britannia will make you most welcome no matter how long or short your stay. All guests receive a key to the private entrance so that you are able to come and go as you please. The Inn is a lovely place to "Get Away from it All" - a place to relax and enjoy a warm and friendly environment.

A modern fire alarm, has been installed. (i) There are no steps at the entrance to the indoor and outdoor Resteraunt areas. (ii) There are 4 steps up to the existing toilets, which are too small to accommodate wheelchairs; (iii) All guest bedrooms are located on the first floor, which has several level changes; (iv) There are 12 steps up a steep narrow stairs to access the guest bedroom area:- For Health and Safety reasons disabled persons must not enter this area; (v) Three Guest bedrooms have baths. One bedroom has a bath / shower combined. Two bedrooms have small showers only; (vi) Planning will be applied for in the near future to establish disabled facilities on the ground floor public areas.
