Cottage Inn Information

Description

The Public house itself is a late 17th century Inn that is set on the banks of the River Lyn in the most beautiful of settings. A bridge links the property with a gateway to many stunning walks that can be enjoyed around the area. During 2022 all of our rooms are advertised as room only with no breakfast service, there is coffee facility with cake, yoghurt and various light snacks you can help yourself to if you fancied a light breakfast. All rooms have a dining area for you to use, Although we understand many guests like a full english at breakfast time we have also found that many diners enjoy a more casual at your leisure approach, especially if you fancy a lie in. Within the grounds and at the right time of year there is often a nice selection of roses to view. Outdoor activities are popular from our location, including bird watching, cycling, hiking, geocaching and more. There is even a secluded little natural pool for taking a dip in just up the river. Lynway, a woodland walk links us to Lynton which is well lit during evenings. Through much of the year the restaurant and bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays to rest our small team, If you are checking in on one of these dates we will email instructions on how to check in via a lock box. Our car park holds around 13 cars and the entrance can be considered a little tight, removals vans, range rovers etc go down but if you are a nervous driver bring the little car. We do regret that The Cottage isn't to well suited for people with access difficulties, although our team will always help.

FatBelly Brewery / Nartnapa Thai Kitchen

The Character of The Cottage Inn is usually very relaxed, during peak season things can get a little hectic but our aim is to always do the best possible. We dont take ourselves to seriously and love a laugh and a joke with visitors, especially when they become friends. The style is home from home so please take note to understand this when booking your stay, rooms are clean and comfortable with good Wifi and smart televisions. Most have stunning views of the countryside. Looking forward to seeing you. Gary, Pam and the team

Directions

A car is recommended when staying at the property
  • Road from Barbrook (1.0 miles)

From Barbrook filling station take the B23234 towards Lynton, After a mile the road starts to drop and you will notice Sunny Lyn Camp site on your right, we are the next right after Sunny Lyn.

Please note that you will need to turn around to access our drive, under normal conditions this would happen in the public car park next to the pub but this is currently so you may need to drive straight ahead to Lynton to turn around.

Access to our drive is considered tight for some vehicles, Our brewery van which is a courrier van will fit but is the largest vehicle to get access, Landrovers, Range Rovers etc use the car park daily but if you are a nervous driver please consider Lynbridge has no further parking available at this time so if you chose to park in Lynton or Barbrook a 10 minute woodland walk will be required.
