Description

The Forresters is a family run country pub. We welcome everyone including dogs and children. We offer a French style Restaurant as well as Bar Meals, Bar facilities including local real ales. We have 7 En Suite Rooms - Singles from £45 per night, Doubles from £60 per night and Twins from £70 per night Discounts available for stays of more than 1 consecutive night The Rooms are located above the Bar & the Restaurant so it can be noisy on busy nights. The bedrooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, TV and Free Wifi. As we are dog and child friendly and you are welcome to have your dog in your room with you or eat in the bar area with them. Visitors to Teesdale are pleasantly surprised to find a genuine French Restaurant on their travels. The Forresters French Restaurant offers French Cuisine in a restaurant which has the authentic look and ambience of its French counter parts. Enjoy classic French dishes sush as Beef Bourguignon, Magret de Canard, Cheese Soufflé, King Scallops as well as delectable pastries. Please note that the Restaurant is closed on Sunday nights, Mondays and Tuesdays. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment The Forresters also offer a Bar with Pool Table, Dart Board and large Selection of drinks, Lagers, Ciders including some French Cidre, large selection of Spirits and local Real Ales, a large selection of wines & sparkling wines is also available by the glass. The Forresters Hotel is situated just a few miles from Barnard Castle and the A66 which can be joined at Scotch Corner on the A1 by any visitors arriving from the South or East of the country and is a short distance away from the stunning city of Durham and the Lake District. It is also located on the Penine Way and close to the High Force Waterfall. Other local attractions include Raby Castle and the Bowes Museum and there are many cycle routes and walks in and around the area.

We have wheelchair access to the restaurant and bar area and to the rear terrace. We also have a disabled toilet. But unfortunately no ground floor rooms are currently available.
