Parkhead Station once described as 'an extraordinary and disagreeable Dales relic' in 1998 before restoration but present day descriptions by visitors include terms as 'an oasis of the moor', 'haven' and 'sanctuary' with many clients returning to Parkhead regularly. Standing approx.1500 feet above sea level in the Northern Pennines (designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) Parkhead Station marks the 100 mile point on the renowned C2C long distance cycle route on the traffic free section of the Waskerly Way and down hill to the coast!
