The Old Borough Arms Information

Description

The Old Borough Arms is a family run guest House in the heart of Rye. All of our 9 rooms are en suite. We also have a 3 bedroom apartment at the top of the building with King size bedroom, a double bedroom, a single bedroom, bathroom and a living room that looks out across The Strand. Check in times are from 2pm until 6pm. We have also have a fantastic terrace that is on the corner of Mermaid Street which guests of The Old Borough Arms can use along with customers from The Mermaid Street Cafe. All guest rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, TV, towels and good quality comfortable beds so that you can have a wonderful and restful sleep. We have a well stocked bar providing a range of drinks for guests to sample and free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the building. The Old Borough Arms overlooks the bustling Strand Quay and from our veranda many interesting shops can be seen including stylish antique and old curiosity shops. The town centre with many more interesting and individual shops, pubs and restaurants is only a few minutes walk away. Beneath the Old Borough Arms in Rye, you will find The Mermaid street Cafe where you can enjoy a light lunch, serving local Crab baps or a homemade scotch egg or sausage roll, Proper Cornish Pasties or a delicious cake. We also have Ryes famous ice cream window selling delicious Movenpick Ice Cream. Check in is between 2pm and 6pm. We would appreciate an E.T.A. Guests of the Old Borough Arms receive a 10% discount on any purchase made at the Mermaid Street Cafe

We have VERY steep steps and lots of them. We do not have any lifts or wide doors.

Directions

  • Train from Rye Train Station (1.0 miles)
    On leaving the station walk straight on for 100 metres until you reach Cinque Port Street where you turn right. Follow this road on for approximately 250 metres and take the first road on your left which is Wish Ward. After another 100 metres or so you will come to The Strand and on your left you will see the Old Borough Arms.
  • Road from M20 (20.0 miles)
    Leave M20 at Junction 10 and take A2070 signed to Lydd and Brenzett. Follow A2070 to Brookland roundabout (Total petrol station) junction, then take A259 (straight on) signed to Rye and Hastings. This road continues onto Rye.
