Old Church Farm Information

Description

Old Church Farm is an 11th Century manor house formerly run by Rolls Royce as a private hotel and now privately owned. The 35 foot drawing room with its ornate plaster ceiling opens onto a sheltered croquet lawn overlooking the South Gloucestershire countryside. Old Church Farm was awarded the highest accolade for a guest house - the coveted AA 5 star Gold Award. During the same inspection we received awards for our breakfasts and dinners. Meals are prepared from locally sourced providers in our 5* rated commercial kitchen and served either in the 18 seater dining room or the cosy breakfast room. There is a wood panelled study and an upstairs and downstairs lobby area to read. The bedrooms range in size from 13sq metres to 35 sq metres. All are en suite with either showers, baths or both. Every room is equipped with a flat screen Freeview TV, wardrobe, desk, Hypnos bed, alarm clock, WiFi and seating. Towels and robes are provided for your comfort. Business visitors can book individual meeting rooms in our separate conference centre or have solus occupancy. There is a meeting room on the ground floor, a second meeting room upstairs and a boardroom. All three rooms are equipped with large screen displays with the boardroom benefitting from a 8ft electric screen for which a 4500 lumens projector is available. A mobile 65 inch touchscreen monitor is also available (extra charge). Fibre internet provides data connectivity either by WiFi or Ethernet and a conference phone an be hired to extend your meeting to the outside world. There is also a skittle alley/party room on the ground floor of the conference centre. Serviced by its own kitchen and food prep area this is a perfect venue to host an event. Should you be planning a family gathering or perhaps a wedding you can book the whole property giving you privacy and amenity. Old Church Farm is easily accessible from the M4 or M5 with Bath and Bristol just a short drive away. There is ample free parking on site.

Chris and Kate together owned and ran a Good Food Guide recommended restaurant in Portsmouth. Cordon Bleu trained Kate has a wealth of experience in hospitality and catering, including managing banquets and conferencing at Winchester Guildhall. She especially enjoys organising functions, particularly weddings and family celebrations. Chris has traded in his life in IT to look after the customers, grounds and buildings. Both are looking forward to spending as much time as possible outside growing food for the table and tending the ornamental gardens. Guests describe the property as "relaxing and romantic" "a hidden gem", "a true English country retreat".

Accessibility

I am sorry but the main house is not very accessible. All the bedrooms are upstairs. There is no lift in the main house. There are stone steps outside leading down to the front door. The breakfast room has two large stone steps. There is no disabled loo in the main house. The conference centre does have a disabled loo as well as wide doorways and corridors suitable for wheelchair users.
