The Masons Arms Information

Description

In a bustling Cotswolds village, the Masons Arms sits proudly on the Village Green in the heart of Meysey Hampton - a great location from which to explore the surrounding Cotswolds. Nearby Cirencester is full of history and character, while quintessential Cotswolds villages are in abundance, waiting to be explored on wheels or on foot. The Masons Arms sits proudly on the Village Green, which makes for a perfect spot in spring and summer to eat outdoors or just sit with a refreshing drink and relax. In colder months, warm yourself up by the open fire and wood burners. The Masons Arms serves food daily, 12 - 2pm for lunches and 6 - 8.50pm for dinner, Monday to Saturday. On Sundays the kitchen is open continuously from 12 - 7pm. Group dining is available if there is a group of you having a get-together in the country, with the possibility of a table big enough to seat everyone sleeping over! Our twin / family room has a bath with shower, and the remaining doubles all have ensuite shower-rooms. Throughout 2015-16, loads of exciting things happened: an extension to build a brand new kitchen, refurbishment of the Bar and Bedrooms and an expansion of the Dining Room further into the adjoining cottage next door. The Cotswold Water Park is close by; from kayaking to water skiing, there's lots to do! And, if that's all a bit energetic, there are dozens - even hundreds - of lakes to stroll round, as well as the Thames Path nearby. Looking for culture? No problem. Discover the Romans in nearby Cirencester or Chedworth, the Arts Scene at the Cheltenham Festivals 20 miles away or make a day trip out of it and visit the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath - all easily accessible. Great connections by road from the M4 or M5, and the nearest train stations are Swindon or Kemble - a little village station that's only four stops from London Paddington which, in turn, connects directly to London Heathrow.

Accessibility

All bedrooms are on the first floor, accessed via a wide, internal staircase. Being an old building we have the usual quirks which make it characterful, and it does mean that there are some single steps here and there into rooms from the corridors, as well as low head-heights occasionally. If you are particularly tall, you might want to tell us when booking so we can try to ensure a comfier stay. Our beds are standard doubles or singles. The pub's bar and toilets are all step-free through the main entrance. Our Dining Room is accessible step-free from the street too, through the wide, old cottage entrance. On arrival, we can open the front door there if helpful. Internally, there are four steps between the Dining Room and the toilets, however going outside from the Dining Room and back into the Bar, it's step-free. When dining with us, if you require a table to eat with step-free access to the toilets, please inform us when you book so that we can try to offer you a table in the Bar.
