Description

Well Cottage is in the village of Ewen, just 3 miles from the Roman town of Cirencester, the capital of the Cotswolds, within easy access of the M4 and M5 and just 1 mile from Kemble main line railway station. Cheltenham is 20 miles away, Bath 30 miles, Oxford 40 miles and Swindon 15 miles. Well Cottage is on the Thames Path and only two miles from the river's source and on the edge of the Cotswold Water Park which offers the opportunity to fish, sail, swim and enjoy beautiful walks. Equestrian pursuits are well catered for in the area. The famous three day events at Badminton and Gatcombe Park are close by and Polo is played regularly throughout the summer at Cirencester Park and the Beaufort Polo Club at Westonbirt. National Hunt Racing at Cheltenham and Newbury and Flat Racing at Bath are within easy reach. We are within easy reach of the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford, the world's largest military airshow, and close to Cotswold Airport at Kemble which is available for private and commercial use and for flying lessons We are within 10 minutes driving of The Bell at Sapperton, The Bakers Arms at Somerford Keynes, The Tunnel House at Coates, Trouble House near Tetbury, The Wheatsheaf at Oaksey and many other excellent Pubs and Restaurants which serve both lunch and evening meals.

Accessibility

The accommodation is in a newly built extension to a cotswold cottage. Flat access is available to the property and there is a downstairs bedroom with an en-suite wet room. This bedroom is available with a 6 foot double bed or with twin single beds and is therefore suitable for a guests with disabilities to share with their carer. The dining room is on the ground floor. • The main entrance has flat access which is 800mm wide and the hallway is stone tiled and flat. • The ground floor bedroom is close to the main entrance and has an 800mm door. • The dining room is carpeted and reached directly through a 720mm wide door, but access is alternatively available through an 800mm wide door. • There is one downstairs bedroom which has an 800mm wide door and is suitable for wheelchair users. • This bedroom is available with a 6 foot double bed or twin 3 foot beds. • There are two further double bedrooms upstairs. These are reached by a straight flight of stairs with a handrail.

Directions

  • Road from Cirencester (3.0 miles)
    Leave Cirencester by the A429 (signposted to Malmesbury and Chippenham). About 2 miles outside Cirencester you will find a left turn signposted to Ewen and Oaksey. Take this road and after about 1 mile a road will join from the left and you will then enter the village of Ewen. At the T junction take a right turn (signposted Kemble) and after 50 yards turn left (signposted Poole Keynes and Oaksey). Well Cottage is about 20 yards down this road on the left.
  • Road from A419 (4.0 miles)
    Travelling North on the A419 about 3 miles after the turning for Cricklade turn left onto B4696 signposted Ashton Keynes and South Cerney. After less than 1 mile take the first right signposted South Cerney. Follow this road through South Cerney and when you have left the village cross straight over the next 2 roads towards Ewen. After entering Ewen pass the Wild Duck Inn (temporally closed) on your left and take the next left turning (signposted Poole Keynes and Oaksey). Well Cottage is about 20 yards down this road on the left.
  • Road from Malmesbury (8.0 miles)

    Travel north on the A429 and pass through the village of Crudwell. After passing Cotswold Airport enter Kemble village and take the right turn indicating Ewen and South Cerney. After 1.5 miles enter Ewen and take the right turn (signposted Poole Keynes and Oaksey). Well Cottage is about 20 yards down this road on the left.
