Directions

  • Road from Fort William (via A82) (46.0 miles)

Follow A82 into Fort Augustus. Take B862 and B852 then B852 into Foyers. Go past the Waterfall Cafe (on your right). Turn Left into Lower Foyers and follow the hill down past Log Ness and The Lodges. Look out for the children crossing sign and turn into the road on the left - it will be Sign posted Foyers Bay Country House.

Follow the lane all the way to the gates then stay left to park outside Reception.

  • Road from A9 from Perth (29.0 miles)

There are two ways to get to Foyers Bay Country House from the A9. Most sat nav's will send you down the B851 before you get to Inverness. This is a very scenic route but can sometimes be tricky to navigate. If your sat nav sends you this way, follow this route:

Turn onto the B851, stay on this road for about 35 miles, you will go through Inverarnie, Farr, Flitchity and Aberarder. This is mostly main road until you reach the crossing where you turn onto the B862 to Errogie.

When you reach Errogie, you will see a sign that points to Inverfarigaig and Glenlia (next to a sign that points to Ft Augustus, Whitebridge and Gorthlek) turn right here at the old red phone box and follow the single track road all the way to the end - a very pretty little drive, but do go slow as it's single track!

At the end of this road, turn left and follow the B852 to Foyers.

As you come into Foyers you will go past Boleskine Burial Ground, along another bit of single track road and past a large white house (Foyers Lodge). Go down the hill and take the next right into Lower Foyers and follow the hill down past Log Ness and The Lodges, keep going past the sign for the Craigdarroch.

Look out for the children crossing sign (on the left) then turn left into the lane on the left - it will be Sign posted Foyers Bay Country House. Follow the lane all the way to the top, go through the gates then stay left to park outside Reception.

If you prefer a quicker route on a more direct road - stay on the A9 until you reach Inverness, turn left onto Sir Walter Scott Drive B8082 - stay on the B8082 until you reach the Nessie Roundabout (you will go straight over 8 roundabouts before you see Nessie in the middle of her roundabout!).

Take the first exit from the Nessie roundabout onto the B862, stay on this road for about 9 miles until you reach Dores where you will take the right hand turn into the B852, this is a very scenic route all along Loch Ness to Foyers.
