Grampian House Information


Grampian House is a small, friendly, privately-owned guest house offering quality en-suite B&B accommodation. Situated in the quiet North Shore area of Blackpool just 50 metres from the Promenade and close to the Train and Bus stations. The North Pier, Blackpool Tower and the Town Centre, with its Theatres, Restaurants, Pubs and Clubs, are all within a ten-minute walk. Facilities: All rooms are centrally heated with en-suite bathroom (shower, toilet and hand basin), FreeView digital TV/radio, and complementary refreshment tray. A broadband internet connection (upto 200 Mbps) is available either by a computer in the lounge or by WiFi from anywhere in the hotel. Smoking is permitted in designated smoking rooms. (Please note that, under current legislation, smoking is allowed only in designated smoking bedrooms.) Location and Local Amenities: Grampian House is situated in the quieter North Shore area of Blackpool and is ideally placed to get out and about and explore the area or further afield. On the promenade there is a frequent tram service to take you south to the famous Pleasure Beach or north to Bispham, Cleveleys, Fleetwood and the Freeport Shopping Village. From the nearby Blackpool North Railway station there are frequent services to Preston, Manchester, Manchester Airport, Lancaster and the Lake District. Take a short walk into the town centre where you can visit Blackpool's major attractions, such as famous Tower, the Sealife Centre, Madame Tussaud's Waxworks and the Winter Gardens, or hop on the Sightseeing Tour bus to Blackpool Zoo, the Model Village or Stanley Park. For evening entertainment there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars within easy walking distance, as are the Winter Gardens, the Tower Ballroom and the Grand Theatre. The renowned Funny Girls show bar and Sanuk, one of the largest night clubs in Blackpool, are only a couple of minutes away.

As Grampian House is a Victorian guest house, without any ground floor rooms or a lift, it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. All bedrooms are on the first or second floors. The proprietors make every effort to care for guests with disabilities but guests are advised to contact them to discuss their requirements before booking.


  • Train from Blackpool North Station (0.3 miles)
    From the front entrance, follow the road along the side of the station building, past the rear entrance. Turn immediately right into High Street, when you reach Pleasant Street at the end, turn left. It is about a five-minute walk. If you prefer to take a taxi, there is a taxi rank in front of the station.
  • Road from M55 Motorway (J4) (4.0 miles)
    From M55 Junction 4, take 3rd exit - A583 (Preston New Rd). Follow the A 583 for 2 miles. At the end of the dual carriageway, carry straight on along Park Rd [B5390] for 1.3 miles. At traffic lights at the end of Park Road bear left onto Church Street, then turn IMMEDIATELY right into Cookson St. Keep to LEFT. At the mini roundabout at the end of the road turn left, then right at the next roundabout into Dickson Rd. After 0.3 mile, at the mini roundabout turn right into Pleasant St.
  • Coach from New Bonny Street Coach Station (1.0 miles)
    Follow New Bonny Street towards the Promenade, then turn right onto the Promenade. Then, EITHER take a tram or No.1 bus north along the Promenade to Pleasant Street (1st tram stop, 2nd bus stop after North Pier) OR continue walking along the Promenade (0.8 mile) until you reach Pleasant Street. From the Promenade follow Pleasant Street up the side of the Claremont Hotel. At the two mini-roundabouts, cross Dickson Road and continue along Pleasant Street. Grampian House is 40 metres on the left.
  • Air from Blackpool Airport (3.8 miles)
    It is about a 15 minute taxi ride from Blackpool Airport.
  • Air from Manchester Airport (60.0 miles)
    There is a direct train service between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North Station. Journey time is about 1 hour 45 minutes.
