The Bell Inn Information


Due to the current climate, the way we run has has to change. we have done everything we can to create a safe environment for both our staff and customers. You will notice our opening times have been reduced in order to allow us to carry out an intense cleaning regime. Check in times are now from 4pm - should you wish to check in earlier than this, please give us a call to arrange Breakfast - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Morning breakfast will consist of Cereals, Juice, Tea & Coffee and Toast. Unfortunately we are unable to offer a hot breakfast option on these days Breakfast Saturday and Sunday will continue as before with a hot option available. Breakfast is not available on Mondays. If you would like to receive a 'packed lunch' instead, please order with a member of staff before 4pm on Sunday. The Bell Inn is owned by two local Ladies Lindsey Booty & Jordan Fox, located in a peaceful village setting, overlooking the surrounding countryside, yet still has easy access to Norwich, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and London. With ample Free Parking and Patio Garden are this 17th Century Coaching Inn offers eight fully en-suited bedrooms including our Family Rooms, Doubles and Twins. All Bedrooms are fully equipped with Colour Television, Radio Clock Alarms, Hospitality Tray, free WiFi in all rooms, Guest Directory of Services and Hair Dryer. We also have a children play area. Dining is available in both our Restaurant & Bar Area, Our Head chef Josh and his team work towards using local ingredients whilst putting together light bites menu, lunch time menu and A la carte menu available lunch times and evening. "Whether you are staying for business or pleasure we will Endeavour to ensure your stay with us will always exceed your expectations".

We do not have lift, all our rooms are on the second floor, which are only accessed by stairs.


  • Road from Diss (8.0 miles)
    From the A143 (coming from Diss) take the turn off marked Rickinghall/Botesdale approx. 1 mile on and where the road bends to the right you need to go left into Botesdale village then follow down the hill and as you go up the next hill The Bell Inn is situated on the top to your right.
  • Road from Bury St Edmunds (15.0 miles)
    From the A143 (coming from Bury St Edmunds) head northeast on A143 for approx. 13miles (over 2 roundabouts) ((passing through Stanton & Wattisfield)) follow on A143 towards Rickinghall take the turning for Rickinghall on the left (just as you come down the hill) this takes you into ‘The Street’ carry straight on for about ¾ mile passing the Church (on right hand side) carry on then just as you go over the hill The Bell Inn is situated on the left.
