Furzedown Hotel Information

Whether this is your first visit to the Furzedown or you are one of our many old friends returning to Great Yarmouth, it is our pleasure to extend a warm welcome, or indeed, welcome back. The Furzedown is so much more than a Hotel to many of our guests and we are all dedicated to ensuring your stay not only meets, but also exceeds your expectations. We are proud to open our new restaurant 'Garrods Bar & Restaurant' in 2019 where our Chefs prepare and cook fresh ingredients and will strive to meet any special dietary requirements you have. Our hotel is situated on the seafront opposite the Venetian Waterways. This was first opened in 1928 and is a Grade II listed park and tourist attraction. Thanks to a Heritage Lottery grant in 2018 the park is now being restored to its original glory and will be reopened in Spring 2019.

Paul & Doreen Garrod bought the Furzedown in 1959. Doreen still has an active role in the daily running of the Hotel, along with her son Paul and grandson William. We are very proud of what we have achieved over this time. We pride ourselves on giving friendly service, with Lisa, Julie and Katie all making up the family team.
